I have yet to see helicopters as AI traffic in any of the FS series. I was hoping FSX would have them but still nothing.  :'(

I included an AI Hawk heli in my FSX demo carrier scenery but AI helis still have the same FDE problems as in FS9 ie they have to taxy, take off after a 'run up' and climb with their noses up.

Shame...only Helo traffic I've ever seen in an FS series was in FS98...The Bell just sat their idling it's engines...it never took off... :'(

Ash, FS heli models don't work as AI (try and record the Bell in Recorder in FS2004 and see what happens). To make AI helis you have to make them think they are fixed wing and play with the cfg and air files. That's why they behave the way they do.

I've done a very large number (so far I've not had a failure as I can recall) but it's such a pain getting in touch with all the designers to get permission to upload that I've never bothered.

Any helo in FS9 will work as AI
There are copious amounts of AI helo flights on the web
Why, I even make my own helo pads (AF2_airports) with short runways so as not to tie up the main runways.

The reason AI helos ARE NOT included -- FS9 or FSX -- is because the model is not perfected; this means, AI helos must have a take-off roll and landing roll -- but they DO Fly in the sim.

In any case . . . who needs AI helos when we have FSX, AI animals
