It seems MS has really let us in to all kinds of goodies in the .cfg

I was wondering if anybody else saw these few lines...

[TextInfo.1]
Latitude=1,1
Longitude=1,2
Altitude=1,3
Heading=1,4
AirSpeed=1,5
WindDirectionAndSpeed=1,6

[TextInfo.2]
FrameRate=1,1
LockedFrameRate=1,2
GForce=1,3
FuelPercentage=1,4

[TextInfo.3]
Latitude=1,1
Longitude=1,2
Altitude=1,3
Heading=1,4
AirSpeed=1,5
WindDirectionAndSpeed=1,6
FrameRate=2,1
LockedFrameRate=2,2
GForce=2,3
FuelPercentage=2,4

It looks as though we can customize what is shown when we hit SHIFT+Z.
I wonder what other variables are available that MS didn't use by default. Is this in the SDK maybe?

Maybe I'll get around to it later. I'm still looking for things that are enhancing performance and getting the sim to run just right for the way I like to fly. I imagine there are several variables that can go into it though.

Via KT400DBL-8235. AMD Athlon XP 2500+, Barton Core, 3D NOW! MMX, Quantistructure, 512KB cache, 1.833 Ghz.

2.5 Gb PC2700 DDR: CL2.5, 3-3-7, 333 MHz. FSB 400.

Okia Dual in line fan HI Power/extreme version 600w (77% actual p.out) Power Supply.

CSB Audigy 24 Bit Dolby 7.1-8 ch, Surround Hi Def card.

80 Gb WD, JB, ATA100, EIDE, UDMA5, 7200 rpm, 8 MB Buffer.

VIDEO CARD SINCE 2/03 when I put it together:
nVidia FX5200-DT, Dual monitor, 128 Mb on 128 bit frame, fan on card, latest drivers nVidia w/WHQL. AGP 8x, 1.5v, 2 pix. clock. 250 Mhz, Dual DAC's @ 350 MHz.
Now this card is fine. DVD playback/record is excellent.

I have fixed the problems for me. GOOD LUCK, I started at 7-8 fps in FSX. Now at smooth 28 fps avg all views! 32 in open sky! Over H2O= 22, LOD 12 meshes I have: (Yosemite)16-18 FPS, Not OC, No CPU, no overclocking, l setup specs.

I am VERY happy with the 8 changes I made. JUST 8 things I did to this as I have done in Pacific Fighters,
B-17G in The Mighty 8th, Return to Caslte Wolfenstein.

See guys and gals, it is NOT the CARD as much as the DRIVERS, they all have BASICALLY the SAME GPU. +enhancers, new features. MOST you never use.

Futhermore, IT IS THE TEXTURES & endless objests in the path that causes this LOW FPS. NO, I DID NOT DELETE or give anything up, just REDUCED the counts & reduced texture size on ALL OBJECTS in FSX.cfg. Like ships, default 30%, Right! So you really need 1/3 the bay full of ships? 1/3 full of boats, and other junk, REDUCE to 5%. This one change got me 3 fps. D/L'd new trees just out. Tweaked the FSX cfg. The FX5200 is low end. PIF low end! Never had to take a second mortgage out to pay for any H/W.

Adding the parameter AverageFrameRate=l,p to the appropriate sections will display Low/Avg/High FPS + Voluability (percentage of deviation).  The items l,p are line and position specifications for the display.

When 'tweaking' your sim, the Voluability percentage is very, very helpful.  Ideally, V will remain in the range of 3-8% maximum deviation.

[TextInfo.2]
FrameRate=1,1
LockedFrameRate=1,2
AverageFrameRate=2,2
GForce=1,3
FuelPercentage=1,4

[TextInfo.3]
Latitude=1,1
Longitude=1,2
Altitude=1,3
Heading=1,4
AirSpeed=1,5
WindDirectionAndSpeed=1,6
FrameRate=2,1
LockedFrameRate=2,2
AverageFrameRate=2,3
GForce=2,3
FuelPercentage=2,4

[SlewTextInfo.1]
Latitude=1,1
Longitude=1,2
Altitude=1,3
Heading=1,4
AirSpeed=1,5
[SlewTextInfo.2]
FrameRate=1,1
LockedFrameRate=1,2
AverageFrameRate=1,3
[SlewTextInfo.3]
Latitude=1,1
Longitude=1,2
Altitude=1,3
Heading=1,4
AirSpeed=1,5
FrameRate=2,1
LockedFrameRate=2,2
AverageFrameRate=2,3

Read again, he said he would find the line and then post it here, implying that he probably didnt remember it from the top of his head.

it doesnt take 2 days to find a line to refresh his memory, does it?
