Dont quite get this

So im haveing a hard time breaking 10 FPS with FSX. I turned OFF autogen and have tryed diffrent levels of quality. Sometimes my AA works and sometimes not. I tryed the texture fix and it literally turned my trees upsidedown and srewed with my textures and shows no perfrmance enhancement. My rig is MORE than capeable to run FSX.

AMD Athelon 64 X2 Duel core processor 4200+
2gigs RAM
Nividia Geforce 7900GT 256mb memory
350gig harddrive with a 16 mb buffer
S Series GA-M57SLI-S4 motherboard by Gigabyte technologys

this thing SHOULD be able to run circles around FSX without autogen but its slower then when i was running FS9 off my laptop... wtf.

i would suggest going into your bios and adjust your settings it would seem that you have some kind of conflict in the way your mb is working with the video card.

Your trees are upside down just because you didn't read the FS2004.com topic until the end. You have missed one important step that is explained later in the topic :)

And I agree that your rig is well enough to get a constant 25 FPS with an already interesting level of details. Of course it is not enough to enable the gournd traffic, or set the autogen to max, or get all the latest graphical effects.

Make sure there are no conflicts between the MB and any other card or system.
Make sure your onboard video and sound card are disabled.
Set your video card slot to auto or choose an optimum setting. Disable your LAN if you are part of a network. sometimes AA settings cause the sim to run slowly. How much memory is the CPU taking for itself?
Just go through your bios page by page and disable anything that is not actually needed.

Hi BAW...;)...!

I think it's because of the following conflicts:

tryed = tried.
haveing = having.
Duel core = Dual core.
Athelon = Athlon.

There are probably lots more....but life is much too short to keep searching...LOL...!

Paul...;)...;)...;)... ;D...!

P.S....Sorry Mate.. ;)...!

Anyway, if i disable my onboard sound, i will have no sound  ;) i already undertsand that may be hogging some of the processor. Ive looked at the cpu usage during my game and FSX is only useing 80-100% of one half of my processor, its not useing the dual core fully. i'll check my bios and see whats up.

There's nothing we can do until Vista & DX 10 cards come out. I have a pretty decent rig and the only way FSX is playable on my system is with everything turned off.

P4 3.2
ATi 9800 Pro 128
2 gigs of ram

I've heard people with SLi (2) 7900 GT's can't even break the 20's!  We're just gonna have to wait I guess..

Black you are 100% right,  we will not see maxed outs ettings good frames until DX10 because basicly FSX is built on DX10 architecture with FS9 compatability

so bring on DX10 cards and vista ;D

Did you try turning off light bloom?  Whenever I turn it on, it halves my FPS.

Ok, now that I have my composure, all I have to say about waiting  another 2/3 of a year is that you might as well shoot me.

I had to wait 8 months for FSX to come out and now another 8 for the latest in technology?

 MS is a scam.  They tempt you with pretty images of software to get you excited then tear your heart out when you learn you will NEVER  be happy with it untill the next big thing comes out.

LOL! Sorry mate this is true to all software companies not MS alone, they must write software to be compatible with future technology to begin with or else it would outdate within a months time ;) You can not program new software to work on todays standard machines, there would be no money in it, when they program they write for the software to at least last a year or two before major updates are needed.

And if you notice you never see them marketing with screenshots showing FPS counters, Why? becasue it is a screenshot taken with every possible setting as high as it can go, so chances are good when that screenshot was taken they too were getting 1-2 FPS.

Not a scam at all if anything I think they were quite honest about stating that this sim will eat most pcs for breakfast, as they also stated with FS9 and the ones before then.

FSX like all software is written with tomorow in mind not today or yesterday. ;)
