I need Computer Performance from Everyone!

Will I just got FSX today and it's doing the same thing as FS2004 did, which is anytime I'm on the ground, it skips(freezes and unfreezes) but when I'm in the air everything's fine, even on low display it will do this, I can be on ultra high in the skies and it will not do this, so I don't think it's my graphic card, it may be a program that I have on my computer that's messing this up because I had a diffrent computer few years ago that I ran 2004 with and it did this, then I bought everything new hoping it will work with FSX, but it doesn't, so the only thing that I can think of it may be a program because my performance is good. So here is my performance that I currently have, but I would like to see what everyone else has that do not have this problem. If you have heard of this problem before, I would appreciate if you would tell me about it.
So I am just going to get a whole new computer and FSX will be one of the first programs I install.

My performance is:
AMD athlon 64 processor 3800+ 2.4GHz, 1.00 GB Ram,
NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT 256MB

What is yours???

This should be more than good enough to run FSX, so that's why I think must be something else like a program or a bug >:(

Thank You for all your help  ;)

The processer is fine, add another gig of ram and see what happens!

Cheers, Gunny (Try turning everything off you dont need and run FS9/FSX then slowly turn them on 1 by 1 to find the problem!)

I've got just about the same machine as you.. Except for a 3700  @ 2.6, which is prob a little faster with the 1MB L2..

I'd call it "barely adequate" for FSX..

Megahertz isn't everything. A 3800+ will outperform  Pentium 4 processors that are clocked at 3.4ghz.

1GB is enough for FSX, unless you're running photoshop and autocad and doing an Anti-Virus scan at the same time and used up the whole gig, which is stupid.

More RAM doesn't mean more faster. Unless your computer is resorting to the swap file you have enough RAM. I hope nobody follows the advice of the people sayings "Add Another Gig" because it is seriously a waste of money.

You should get good performance on medium settings.

Yeah, that's not supposed to happen. Something is wrong.

Freezes only when you are on the ground...
Only when your wheels are actually touching the ground right ?
... I'm not sure at all, but I'm thinking about a problem with sound. Are you using some 5.1 features or something ? Is your sound card integrated to your mother board, or is it a PCI sound card ? Did you try updating your Mother board and Sound card drivers ?

Yes it only skips the second I make contact with the ground, doesn't matter if it's the wheels making contact or the top of the plane. Will I do have a 5.1 soundcard, and it is PCI. No I have not tried to update my motherboard nor my sound card. I guess I could try that Daube, Thanks ;)

To comment on what you wrote Cheesegrater; I do have photoshop and Anti-virus program, but neither run while I'm playing. Yeah I don't think it's my performace either, although I was thinking of upgrading my computer anyways just because of other reasons, but I think It may be a program that is eating up my RAM, but it's still weird that it only does that on the ground and not in the air ??? Since no one else has ever heard of this problem, that's why I think that it's one of my other programs. I'm just going to restore my computer and reinstall everything, and FSX would be one of the first to get reinstalled, to see if it will work properly before I have all my other programs. But I will try to update my motherboard and sound card before :)

So thank you all for your advices :)
