Does FS X have real airline names (Delta,American,Qantas,United..etc,etc..) or are they going to include the fake airlines that were in FS2004 (Soar,Landmark,Orbit, etc.)??

(personally,I like real-world airline names...)

P.S. Where could I find a list of FS X's airlines online?

Judging from the few screenshots featuring airliners I've seen, it appears that it's going to have the fictional airlines again (though I did see one screen featuring a Sobelair 737).

It's not that big a deal, really. Developers will inevitably release plenty of AI packages to suit your needs.

Quantas

It's QANTAS. No U. ;)

And to answer your question in short, no.

No real airline names.

There is one real life bush air service, Kenmore Air - DeHavilland DHC2 Beaver & Cessna 206B Grand Caravan.

Here's a list -- all fictional, of course:
World Travel Airlines - Airbus A321, Boeing 737-800, 747-400, Douglas DC-3
Orbit Airlines - Airbus A321, Boeing 737-800, 747-400, Bombardier CRJ700
Pacifica Airlines - Airbus A321, Boeing 737-800, 747-400, Bombardier CRJ700
Global Freightways - Boeing 747-400, Cessna 206B Grand Caravan
Emerald Harbour Air - Douglas DC-3

Another way of listing:

Airbus A321 - 3 fictional airline paints plus a plain white
Air Creation Trike Ultralight - 3 paints plus a plain white
Beechcraft Baron 58 - 3 paints plus a plain white plus G100 glass cockpit version
Beech King Air 350 - 3 paints plus a plain white
Bell 206b Jet Ranger - 12 (yes, twelve) paints plus a plain white
Boeing 737-800 - 5 paints plus a plain white
Boeing 747-400 - 5 paints plus a plain white
Bombardier CRJ700 - 3 paints plus a plain white
Bombardier Lear Jet 45 - 2 paints  (no plain white)
Cessna C172SP - 4 paints plus a plain white plus one equipped with G1000 glass panel
Cessna 206B Grand Caravan - 3 paints plus a plain white
DeHavilland DHC2 Bearver (floats only) - 2 paints plus a plain white
DG-808S Sailplane - 4 paints
Douglas DC-3 - 5 paints plus a bare metal
Extra 300S - 4 paints plus a plain white
Grummand Goose G21A - 5 paints plus a plain white plus a US Navy
Maule Orion on Wheels - 5 paints plus a plain white
Maule Orion on Wheel/Skis - 2 paints
Mooney Bravo - 2 paints plus one equipped with G1000 glass panel
Piper J3 Cub - 3 paints
Robinson R22 - 3 paints

The inclusion of the many plain whites should make it easy for repainters and is in keeping with MSFST's new policy of a closer relationship with the addon developers

It wouldn't surprise me if there are  more paints in the retail version when it comes out.

You will never see any real-life airline liveries as stock textures in any version of FS [current and future] because some airlines don't like the idea of a greedy corporate giant like Microsoft making vast amounts of money out of their name. Others might allow it but might also want a share of the profits [if they wanted], which can increase the prices tag of the final product.

Besides, Microsoft will never be able to create a whole list of real-life airline liveries for FS even if all the airline companies allowed it. Only Project AI can achieve that as Microsoft has to focus on other things such as improving the overall sim itself.

I don't think they'd ever seriously consider it because they would have to get a license from each airline to use its corporate image. Why bother when as you say freeware and smaller (than MS) payware developers will do it for you.

Um, that's from a airline that ceased to exist a long time ago. ::)

If you fly the mission (landing the CRJ at St. Marteens) you will note that there's an Orbit Airlines B747 ready for takeoff and holding short of the runway. That convinced me that we gonna see the same fictional airlines even in FSX.

I've always hated those Orbit's, Pacifica's, and Soar's...I remember way back in FS2002, at O'Hare International Soar 785 came in from VC Bird and went back as 786. It was run by an MD-82... ;D ;D

If real airline companies were smart, they should give permission to MS to use their liveries...
