Microsoft has to focus on other things such as improving the overall sim itself making a profit.
You will never see any real-life airline liveries as stock textures in any version of FS [current and future]
You will never see any real-life airline liveries as stock textures in any version of FS [current and future] because some airlines don't like the idea of a greedy corporate giant like Microsoft making vast amounts of money out of their name. Others might allow it but might also want a share of the profits [if they wanted], which can increase the prices tag of the final product.
Besides, Microsoft will never be able to create a whole list of real-life airline liveries for FS even if all the airline companies allowed it. Only Project AI can achieve that as Microsoft has to focus on other things such as improving the overall sim itself.
FS2004 - Ford Tri-Motor EAA livery
I don't think they'd ever seriously consider it because they would have to get a license from each airline to use its corporate image. Why bother when as you say freeware and smaller (than MS) payware developers will do it for you.
