Minimum System Specs

This Topic might be not necessary,if this is the case the Mods are called to delete it.

I want to know at what specs FSX will run smoothly enough to avoid complains.

The main thought behind my question is,there seem to be many users who have issues with the FR or the display of FSX.Ok,it

I think that is a difficult question to answer. I am sure it WILL run on a rather basic system.

It all depends on what you require your sim to look like to meet your needs. Some people arent bothered about the pretty water etc. Unfortunately I think to get this one running at its ultimate best is going to require a top of the range pc with 2gig+ ram, 2x decent graphics cards in SLI configuration and a high end CPU.

It all comes down to money with most people at the end of the day.

Those are the minimum requirements.
With this hardware setup, FSX would look no better than FS5.

The testers here that had fairly good frames were all using very last generation cards, some even se two cards in SLI, with the latest possible Pentium proc, like at least 3,4 GHz, and 2 gigs of speedy RAM. Even with that configuration, the frames would eventually get under 20 from time to time.

Minimum requirements for semi-smooth play:

Conroe 6400
2 GB RAM
7900GT or X1900 in SLI or Crossfire

;D

hes asking for MINIMUM system specs not what he will need to run it on full detail with good fps.

I still believe that you can't pinpoint minimum specs for any game. Two people with exactly the same systems may not have the sim run in exactly the same way, due to other deciding factors to do with their own individual computer. Sure, in a 'straight out of the box' form, the performance difference would be minute, but over time, more and more stuff is there to contribute to the overall performance of your computer. One example, being a simple defragging of a hard drive, which, in some cases, can improve performance no end.

In my opionion, to get a good frame rate with most settings enabled, you'll need:

AMD 3500+
1gb RAM
Radeon X1800+, nvidia 7800GT+, maybe a X850 if you wan't lower price.

Why?
3500+ because my P4 650 gets to 90% utilization with 0% AI, also to compensate for bigger GPU than mine (X850).

1gb RAM because my peak memory usage using fsX is only 750mb.

Graphics cards because my X850XT runs the unoptimized demo very well. A step up should make it run very good.

If you want really good graphics with frame rates over 30, get:
Core 2 duo X6800
2gb RAM
Radeon X1950XTX crossfire.

That is praticarly my setup. I have an AMD 3500+, Nvidia 6800Ultra and 1gig of ram.

I have my settings pretty good but I have no AI at all, though I fly mainly online so I dont require it anyway. My frames are generally 25-30 (locked @30) but flying low with Autogen on dense over a forest has it stuttering a bit, but thats it really. I am hoping upgrading to 2gig of ram will help that problem out a bit!

Well,i have to say that i was a little bit self minded when i posted my question.;D But now i know what i will have to do to be prepaired for FSX.
My system specs now; AMD Athlon 64x2 3800+
                                    1024 MB RAM
                                    MSI X1300 256MB
Upgrading the Graphics Card and the RAM should be enough to run FSX with FR up to 25-30.

dual core processer is a must

that is one of the major reasons for the 'over land' stuttters allot of people complained about

FSX considers a medium quality system:

Dual core (medium spec)
7900GT or GTX or X1900Xt
1GB ram (XP) 1.5GB ram (vista)

Vista sucks 512mb of ram for the OS alone so having 1 gig is not enough for FSX and Vista. 2GB will be needed for best results

DX10 will NOT be available for WindowsXP. You must purchase Vista for DX10 and M$ will release a DX10 patch for FSX which will only install into Windows Vista.

The specs I posted above are what you need to accomodate your question:
