Has anyone even bothered to read the "README" file??

I never do that, unless I encounter any problems. ;D ;) Then again, I don't recall myself complaining [too much] about the FSX demo.

You be surprised to see that there are people on other forums [not just in the V] who complain so much about the demo that they accused Microsoft of not being open to the demands of the users. ::)

PS: Some of the complaints came from the X-Plane forums. Go figure. ::)

So forum members aren't now allowed to make objective comments about something without being denigrated, is that it?

Ex-pat, I do rather take exception to your comments as they were initially directed at me in my thread. I personally DO NOT care about the Read-Me as I do not believe that Microsoft would release a 'Demo' that was so crippled, featureless and different from the ultimate offering that running it would not give an indication of how the final offering would perform. They wouldn't call it a 'demo' then would they.

So whether you like them or not, I still think the comments made by anyone after using this software are totally valid and I for one will encourage everyone to tell us about their findings, both good and bad. After all, a 'demo' is designed to encourage feed-back as much as anything else so don't anyone be shouted down by anyone else if you want to share your opinions and experiences.

Good day all... ;)

"objective comments"
That's the plot. Not so much ojective critics that far.

"Huuu FSX sucks, I cannot see anything out of the VC windows"
"FSX sucks, I cqn't get more than 5 FPS on my GeForece2 MX"
"FSX sucks, the default terrain is so blurry on my (10 years-old) video card, MS has lied to us with their screenshots"

That 99% of the critics we had until now, all about the beta of a game that won't hit the stores before at least two months. You call that objective comments ?

PS: Ok, the last comment was a bit exagerated for the simV forum, but I saw such comments on another forum ;)

Even if you read the readme, it still doesnt help some of the issues.  Yes its not complete, but thats not what many people complaints are.  Most people are complaining that the sim is just too resource intense and we can't run it.  That is not mentioned in the readme

They should have called it 'limited Beta', that's right. This is not a demo.

I think it all comes down to this:

The people who enjoy the demo, are the people with good computers that give them a good experience of FSX.

The people who don't enjoy the demo, are the people with computers not capable of handling FSX properly, and therefore they don't get to experience FSX properly. So instead of blaming their PC, they blame Microsoft.

Rollerball, of course forum members can make objective comments, but "highlighting" problems, with remarks such as yours about the AA, when it states in the readme file that at this time it does not work, well that

I haven't even got it downloaded yet (i'm at 20%) and i'm already complaining about my comp's hardware... ;D

Just goes to show how i hate how things get better with each month or so (even 2). >:(

At one stage, you could've called my graphics card, the best.  Now you can call it junk... :'(

Geforce 4 MX cards were never the best. They were meant to be mid to low range cards. I am running one right now. Before that I had a Geforce 4 Ti and that was much better than the MX.

Hey, my computer is not that great [it's pathetic in fact] and I'm not complaining about Microsoft. Instead, I simply say "oh well, time to get a new rig" because I know all too well that every computer will suffer their fate [we call it the trash can]. ;D

I haven't seen anybody blame Microsoft on this forum.

What did you expect? This is just like any other release of FS, it pushes hardware to the limit. Except FS2002, that was pretty frame rate friendly. :D

ex-pat, once again as you do from time to time, you're talking cobblers. There is nothing in my original thread that is 'being negative for the sake of it'. It's just a simple statement of my ACTUAL EXPERIENCES of running this piece of software and my conclusions at the end of it. That is what the demo is for.

Sorry if my experiences don't concur with yours but that's life. And I'll say what I want no matter what self-apponted censors like yourself would like me to. Sorry mate - I'm too old to change now.  ;)
