Ok well i guess you could call this a mini review. From what ive seen in this demo is that, even the high dollar pc's take it differently. My fps sucked on low settings and when i put it all on high im gettin 25-30 fps (Go figuire) What i have also noticed atleast for me is scenery will load and then after a certain time its blury and will not sharpen. Another item is that it disengages all aa and video card settings if you change plane or settings in flight. On the plus side from what i have seen is when raining the jet blast actually does create mist, along with the wheels movng on the ground. On top of that the new fs water seems to be a good focus point of the demo, and i will agree with that it is much improved. Overall the demo is very nice and im sure the full will be even better. Until ten fs9 to me is still just as good as its the more stable platform, yes i know its a demo and a beta but still.

Almost all of the discussions about FSX seem to revolve around the water and how it's improved. ;)

my water is just like ACOF... no reflections really really bright blue... anyone else like this? could it be because i downloaded from Filefront?

Have you tried changing the settings? I don't have the demo but I'm guessing you could just like in FS9...maybe someone with the FSX demo can shed more light ;) ;)

in the scenery tab (i think) theres something called something like water detail , set this to at least 2x.med or 2x.max for really god water but it'll hurt your fps.

thats what i mean... i went in and took everything to the max manually, not just the Graphics/Aircraft/Scenery/Weather/Traffic but when into those... im redownloading from microsoft and see if it was the download that went wrong

as far as i know your gfx card is only dx8 which could be the problem if the water requires dx9 to display properly although I don't know very much about it so thats only a guess.

Definitely the graphics card that won't allow water reflections. Or reflections on the aircraft or self shadowing, for that matter.

I have the exact same card, it is DX9 compatable but its unable to render the water in FSX.
