Fileplanet Beta

Postby Kolbeck10 » Sun Aug 06, 2006 11:41 pm

I'm not sure if this has been posted, but Fileplanet is taking applications for a beta of FSX.  It's for subscribers only, of which I am not, but I thought I would spread the information incase anyone here was.

Cool...  I think...  But I don't need Beta, I'm getting Alpha Deluxe! ;D

I don't know what your apparent idea of version classification is, but here's mine.

Think of beta being: the game is doing but its supposed to do, but we still need to iron out the bugs. e.g. v 0.5

Alpha being: the game is finished. e.g. v 1.0

Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon, etc.

Beta is like second place... not quite

Alpha is like number one... where it should be

When it comes to games, alpha is the first playable build of a game, and a beta has more features and less bugs.

This is exciting stuff...

This is just great. Can imagine how much work I have to do to keep this forum from turning up-side down once the demo is released? The demo has yet to be released and already I'm running short on injections. ::)

The download page also says that FSX will be on the shelves as of the 3rd of October.

2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

This is not called "Alpha", this is called "Gold", when the product is finished and ready to be shipped.
As explained above, Alpha means the very first working version, with missing functionnalities etc... and Beta means full functionnalities and full of bugs :D
