New FSX Video - Long One

Postby Katahu » Sat Aug 05, 2006 5:42 pm

A friend of mine over at the FS2004.com forums managed to find this interesting video for us all to enjoy. Before you watch the video, let me highlight some of the features that will presented here:

1. The Missions

2. Perfect comfirmation that you can go to space. There aren't any space craft available, but that's no problem considering how us addon developers will provide the goods.

3. The speaker also points out a brand new feature that was never available in any previous version: Negative Flaps. These are special flaps that have feature a new dynamic effect on the wing. This is music to my ears considering how useful this will be for car spoilers.

4. The speaker pronounces the "X" in FSX as a roman numeral "ten" rather than the letter "X".

5. I guess the ACES team lack the taste when it comes to background music for the menus.

6. You will notice constant flickering on the monitor. This is because the camera failed to syncronize the camera with the monitor.

7. The resolution is not very good, but it's acceptable.

8. This is a long @55 video [at least 80MB].

Nice find  ;D

To be honest, the game is perfect to me (without making it OMGWTFBBQ!!1). Performance isn't an issue, they have almost 2 months of pure bug fixing and performance fixes (if it indeed comes out in October).

Perfect? ::)

Yes, perfect  ::).

Obviously the game isn't going to be all PMDG planes with fs passengers + awsome graphics. But so far, it IS what  have expected.

It makes you wonder, if nothing is perfect, why did they make up the word in the first place?

I like the way he used an [extra 300?] to demonstrate the wonderfully fluid flight engine of this latest simulator. It is a shame we didn't see a landing and confirm our suspicions that microsoft doesn't do crap flight models. Also a pity there was no view of trim indication in that particular example, although it is not necessary because the aerodynamic qualities were probably bang on in any case.
