I just read a review on FSX over at AVsim.  It is the first subject of todays topics by Yak-yak.  It is interesting what he had to say.  You can now use an x-box controller to play, you can place a camera anywhere on the plane, which is a great feature.  He also noted blurry textures and stutters (AAAGGGHHHHH), but not to panic, hopefully they will be addressed by the release date.  He also went on to say how much it reminded him of FS9, only now with missions.  Todd

If they can afford an Xbox 360, plus FSX, plus the computer to run it on............. they can afford a joystick. :P

"Good" is in one's mind - I'm still chugging with a 5-year old Microsoft Sidwinder Pro (no Force Feedback) and a 7 year old Suncom "G-Force" yoke (US$15.00) and a handme down CH-Pro serial port set of rudder pedals (not all used at the same time).  Trust me - my flying disabilities are not at all affected - positively or negatively - by the hardware involved.

Thats what i have....but the main connection between the "joystick" part and the "ball part has been broken several times, glued back together broken a few more times and now i dont have any rudder because if i twist it will snap :(

i will tell you personally that as much fun as my X-52 is, i might sell it...

it's not as cracked up as i paid my $140 for, a bunch of useless buttons, modes, LCD screens. and dont even bother with the saitek joystick program, thats all eye candy, that is...

i might go back to my Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2. Never been a fan of Force feedback, so this joystick is just right.

now i hear the CH set is a good buy, if you've the money. i might have enoguh for the pedals if i sell my X-52, and then i have to find desk space.

ok... so the xbox controller will work, so what. Microsoft has sold gamepads in the past, this is no different...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

this whole camera angle thing, finally microsoft catches up... always a sim late... :P

however this will put walk & follow as well as F1 view out of a job, time to find something else, UNLESS this camera angle is a flop.

I used a joystick for a long time, but since I mostly fly airliners, I switched to a yoke with throttle, mixture, and torque settings.  Best addition to the sim yet.  Made flying alot more fun and realistic.  When I want to fly the fighter, out comes the sidewinder.  Todd

i dont know what to think of a 360 controller it seems to be made for more agressive activities not the finite movements needed. and it may be to simple for fsx. but who cares i know im going to use my x52.
