See see HA!! I was right. Your going to need a 650 Prescott or AMD 3800+, 1GB+ of RAM, SATA drive (odd that they are now putting a requirement on a HDD), X800XT or 6800GT as basic system specs.

Get to saving boys, as when it finally gets released your going to need a DX10 card, so plan on blowing atleast $300 on that alone. Then another $300 on a processer, and a $125 mobo to run it all on. He he, new parts for everyone

Cheers

Holiday 2006 means christmas. Almost certainly. So I would imagine sometime between thanksgiving and New Years.

Follow the American Holidays [which is around from early Nov to late Dec]. Think about it. M$ is in America. Therefore, it follows American Holidays, not New Zealand Holidays.

As for ctjoyce's comment on the hardware:

I am not surprised at all about the hardware. How much money do you believe people spend to play Doom 3, Half-Life 2, Quake 4, etc.? FS is no different since it relies on the PC just the others. My laptop can barely operate at all with Doom 3 and its graphics [my laptop costed $1,600].

Besides, in the near future, will be neading the upgrades anyways. If we don't, we would still be playing PONG to this day with a computer that takes up a whole bedroom. LOL

Lets see here......ahhh NO!

Rember folks the sim taxes all parts of your system not just your video card and RAM (though they are 2/3 of the mixture)

Minimum spec for the new sim is going to be (according to M$)
P4 2.8Ghz or AMD 3200+
1G of RAM
DVD Drive
128MB DX9 GFX card (Base is the nVidia 6600GT or the ATi X800GTO)

The reccomended are
P4 3.6Ghz
2GB of RAM
DVD Drive
256MB DX10 Card (none have been released yet, but then again neither has DX10)

We all sit and ask for better wether, ATC, AI, sceenery, etc, and M$ gave it to us, but at a cost. With all the improovements in the engine your gonna need a faster system to be able to keep up with the storm of info from the FSX engine. So in simple Alrot, No your gonna need an upgrade BAD!

Cheers

My system will be the basics then? I don't care...I know it should be able to run the thing pretty darn fine....without DX10 which I don't care about.  :P
