RC-135 downloads

Postby ronrose12 » Mon Dec 30, 2019 12:18 pm

I'm trying to find either an RC-135 download or some help with an old file from 2007 on the AVSIM site. I've tried to assimilate that texture file into several FSX airframes (Boeing 707 and several models of KC-135s), but no joy. I am sure it's operator error and I'm in the "too stupid to live" category since no matter how I try to add/modify the aircraft.cfg files, it doesn't work. I'm doing something or a variety of somethings wrong, but can't figure it out, even after following the instructions. I'm thinking maybe I am not using the correct aircraft, perhaps? Or is this just a file that cannot be used in FSX, even though it indicates otherwise? Any help for this old RC-135 crew dog is appreciated. FYI, accomplishing these computer mods is not my forte, so it may take Kindergarten English to enlighten me, sorry to say. Thank God my flying skills were considerably better!! Or maybe someone with the wizardry skill set or Chris Evans can make an RC-135 variant and post for everyone to fly? Thanks in advance.

Texture files are specific to the model. So you could not take textures from one aircraft and stick them in another.
Inside the textures folder you will find textures for a specific model. For example TDS Boeing 737-800. Even then you need to get the correct base model as engines, winglets, etc, will vary.
There is a good KC135 here https://simviation.com/1/search?submit= ... &x=11&y=12

It contains a paintkit but only flat BMP files. I only paint textures when there is a layered .PSD format paintkit.

However if you can provide an image of what you want I will take a look.
