Hey everyone,

I've downloaded a few airplanes with DDS type texture files, and none of them are able to be displayed - all the DDS textures are transparent. BMP textures are fine. Has anyone had this problem before? Do I need some different Windows drivers or something to display DDS files?

Is the DX10 preview box checked?
If it is uncheck it and see if the aircraft displays properly, the XF91 displays correctly for me with dx10 preview unchecked. FSX aircraft use dds textures as default.

No, I don't have the problem, and mine are not transparent. But do you have paint.net? If yes, can you check if it is upside down? If it isn't you should turn it, and look if it is still like that, my folder of the F-18 looks like this: and how it looks like to me: Does that of you looks identical? I have a 64-bits windows 7

Thanks guys! You solved my problem indirectly I started looking into the points you mentioned, and one thing lead to another and to another... which finally lead me to installing Service Pack 1 and 2. These service packs fixed the problem.
