By any chance are you referring to the "Text Info" that appears in the upper left corner of your screen? Try SHIFT + Z.
It will give you Altitude, Heading, Airspeed, Fuel Percentage, etc. You can modify this by going into the FSX CFG. Look for [TextInfo.1], [TextInfo.2] and [TextInfo.3].
The numbers following the different litems refer to the line that item is on in the display and the placement within that line.
As always, don't modify the FSX CFG without making a back up of it first. I hope this answers your question.
An Aircraft Mechanic only needs two tools, Duct Tape and WD40.
If it moves and it's not supposed to - use the Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and it's supposed to - use the WD40.
