Blurries. A simple solution.

I have been meaning to bring this up for some time.
Better late than never.

Over a period of time I began to get blurring scenery.
Especially with large aircraft and making turns.
I tried every trick on the net suggested.NO LUCK.!

One morning a while ago I was scanning the Orbx Forums.
The subject came up about this widespread problem.
In steps Nick Cooper. I am sure everyone has heard of him.

"Try locking your frame rates at 24. That is what the average
Human eye can see."...So,I tried it with a 747-800...Guess what.?
No more blurries. I have never had them since. I cannot tell the difference
in quality with frames rate set on higher values. My FSX Gold is a pleasure
now.Even after prolonged flights.

If any of you guys have a blurring problem, try this and post the results.

Anthin.

Blimey, Anthin!.... :o ....

We veteran Flight Simmers have been limiting our Frame Rates to 20FPS since Microsoft was invented, and Pontious was a young Pilot*!

It is to prevent an excessive amount of data being transferred around the system to overload, and slow down, the Hardware in our Computer system.

It was especially important during all our on-line; "Multiplayer Flights" in the olden days, to prevent overload and slowing down of data transfer over the Internet between players causing the Pilot to be; "disconnected/thrown-out" during the flight session!

Its a good reminder for all the newcomers NOT to leave their Flight Simulator Frame Rate set to default; "Unlimited", but to lock it to 20/25 Frames Per Second, to ensure "smoothness!"....
...any more than that is wasted, and causes scenery, etc, problems!

...I like; "Smoothness".... ....!

A good tip, well worth passing on, Anthin!.... ....!

Paul.... :D ....!

While the advice to switch from unlimited FPS to a fixed FPS limit is very good, the affirmation about the maximum number of frames the eye can see is totally wrong.
It is quite frustrating to see that no matter how many times this fact has been proven wrong on virtually each and every forum ever, it keeps existing and being relayed.
The human eye can perceive much more than 24 FPS. It can perfectly see the difference between 30 and 60 FPS, and also the difference between 60 and 90 FPS or more.

That being said, yes 24 FPS is quite playable in FSX, and is sufficient for flying liners for example, in which very little movements are made (very stable flight). It will be *smooth enough", so to say. People like me with a very old hardware should definitely try a low, fixed FPS limit because it is definitely the most efficient way to flight the blurries. The drawback is that any complex plane will bring your FPS down to unplayable values. This is why a lot of people prefer to keep the unlimited FPS, to maintain a higher average.

Hello Fozzer , if some day far in the future you start to get a little old and senile please write and tell us
what its like. You seem pretty darn quick and in control to me right now. And, Merry Christmas Amigo!
