FSX Gold Edition Install Issues On Win 10

Hi,
I've been a longtime FS user (about 7 years and counting). A while ago, I got a new computer for running FS. When I tried to install it, this error appeared;


When I clicked OK and the install continued, another error appeared towards the end;

P.S. I have Visual Studio 2017 installed. Could that be the issue?

Thanks for the reply.
FSX still can't install despite trying out your fix... I'm at my wits' end.
I'm seriously considering factory reset after all this.
Is that guaranteed to work?
