I am trying to make the font size bigger when you press shift + Z it displays at the top left hand corner of the screen but I am having a hard time reading it without standing up and getting closer to my monitor.
I know that this is defined in the FSX.CFG file but not sure which parts to edit.
CATARACTS are a bear I hope to have one removed soon. I have noticed that the same display in FS9 is a larger font perhaps all I need to do is to copy that line into FSX?
any ideas?

Here is a free program for that.

You could try changing the screen resolution from FSX Display settings.

Press and hold 'Control' key+roll mouse wheel for in/out zoom.

Thanks I was not aware you could do that I will give it a try and let you know.
As for the free program not sure if I want to go that far as I do not know exactly what it will do and the last thing I need is to create another problem someplace else.

I already have it set about as large as I can get it. But I think the problem lies in the cfg file in the line that defines that window. As I do not have problems with any other window at all.

Lots more info than the default on-screen text (Shift + Z) & you can change the colour & size of the text.
The only downside is that it has to be added to the panel.cfg of individual aircraft as an extra pop-up window.

Sorry, doesn't look like it. I found this on an Avsim thread discussing changing the font COLOR.

Yeah, the font is hard coded. Technically, you could change it, BUT you would have to use a hex editor to modify LANGUAGE.DLL. Moreover, the font is used for things other than the SHIFT+Z information, so changing it would probably mess up other things."

That may very well be the case. But FS9 the font is bigger I am trying to find out if I can copy that over to FSX but so far am unable to locate the line.
Of course the same thing may apply there as well if it is hard coded I guess you are stuck with it.
I will give the gauge a try that should be an easy task
But not to fear I plan on backing up my gauges and aircraft just to be on the safe side.
