I need help with the Cougar Helicopter A/P

I realize that this is not a helicopter site, but am hopeful
that someone can help me (if possible)

I've installed the Cougar helicopter autopilot in accordance
with Ronald Vermeij's tutorial and it works more or less.

The mouse clickable portion works about 80% of the time.
The keyboard portion only works about 20% of the time.

When the keyboard part is working (maybe 20% of the
time) then all keyboard functions appear to work ok.

I'm running Windows 8.2 if that helps. If that is the problem
then I'm not able to do much about it at this time.

I've tried several times to get the A/P to recognize
the keyboard with about the same results. Not very
satisfactory.

Other than giving up, what advise can the group offer ?
