Launch Steam from the Desktop icon & click on the Library tab.

Right-click on the FSX entry & select Properties.

From the 'Local Files' tab click the 'Verify Integrity of Game Files' button.

This should check your FSX-SE installation & repair it as necessary. It might take a while

If you have a stand alone install, use FSX registry utility,:

I can recommend the FSX Registry Utility here --> https://www.tweakfs.com/store/free_tools.php

It fixed my FSX Gold registry entry. I think it should work for FSX-SE.

SNAP! ^-^

sorry i didn't express myself properly,,i've already repaired fsx steam....no problem.....it is the fsx registration repair i was referring to....i don't know how to use it.....i was concerned that there may be leftover files or whatever from the last time i installed fsx steam...which was screwed up.......but maybe it's unnecessary?......i apologize for my need to get things straightened out for the next little while...i may be a drain on people's brain :?

Not a problem. My brain is already shot (hehe). I just wanted to help a little. I don't have FSX Steam. I have FSX Accel. I never used the registry repair tool either. So what am I doning in here anyway? Oh, yeah, I wanted to say that the tool will do for you the edit to registry. So save a copy of the registry before you edit it or let tool run. There is a value in 'Co-Exitance' area which must be set or changed to '1' if it is '0'. That's all the tool does I believe. But of course if you have problems with add ons then it could be a simconnect problem. The registry tool does not fix that I don't think. Operative word is: THINK (ha). Good luck.

It does not matter what subject related to Windows, or Flight Simulator, or even tractor repair, you want to 'bone up', it's on YouTube. But the wise way to do the search for info (ie: 'How To' video) is to GOOGLE the topic and then see if a RELEVANT video link pops up. Usually does. Any topic. Try it. You like to read - right? No need to buy a 'For Dummies' book. It's on video. Name it - it's there. Cheers.

You do not need to redownload or reinstall anything.

You have "repaired" your FSX Steam, so your scenery.cfg has been replaced by the original one. The scenery.cfg file is your scenery library, simple as that. Since you repaired your FSX Steam, that scenery.cfg got replaced by the original, empty one. FTX Central surely has re-added its own entries inside, but you'll need to re-add all of other sceneries by yourself.
No need to use any registry tool here. You just have to redeclare your addon sceneries in your scenery library in FSX Steam.
