Artificial Intellegence

Postby gordie3640 » Fri Jul 28, 2017 2:31 pm

I'm curious. Just how smart is the FSX AI? I know I can adjust the aircraft density. However, I haven't changed it and it's set at ultra high. A couple of month's ago I flew into Whitman Field in Oshkosh, WI, the home of the EAA Airventure and the ground was literally coated with GA aircraft. Today, during the EAA Airventure's actual occurrence, I flew in again. My Learjet is parked and there isn't another plane in sight. Go figure.

You can control AI by adjusting the Traffic sliders there is one for general Aviation and one for Commercial Aviation . You can also add or remove AI flight plans. I have never looked at the default AI flight plan so I am not sure how many fights are in it. You have to remember AI fly's flight plans just as you would they all have a starting time and place to start and a destination, O what you saw is not that unusual.
Just like the real world airports have there busy time and time where few aircraft come and go.

I'm sorry that I made my question so complicated. Simply put, I guess AI doesn't know when the EEA AirVenture occurs.

You are 199% correct it does not know anything about real world events. However you can adjust AI by creating flight plans that will have that airport for there final destination is it would look as if it knew You can set them up to arrive at a certain time and leave on a designated time and date it is not hat hard to do> and when the event was over just remove the flight plans 8-)
