Orbx issues

Postby Mickod2603 » Sat Jul 22, 2017 8:02 am

So, whilst there's a subject on Orbx Scenery, i bought a couple of packs (Global Base, and Scotland), and although there has been some slight improvement in the graphics etc, it's not quite there yet. Here are some screenshots. Any ideas welcome and appreciated!

I don't know what you have there, but it isn't Orbx Scotland.

Where did you get the files and how did you install them?

THIS is the Orbx Scotland scenery.

I got it from FTX Central 3, payware, and installed it that way. I have Base Global also.

Ok, I've bought two Orbx sceneries that were on CD/DVD.

The CD/DVD's are pretty old. But if you bought them through FTX Central 3, then the files are up to date.

If the download files were corrupt, things would probably look worse.

I'm guessing that for some reason the downloads didn't install.

Re-launch FTX Central 3, and see if Scotland looks like this.

If it does, then you should head over to Orbx.

I have reset it countless times and done a few installs and uninstalls. I thought it was maybe my Laptop. There is a folder in my P3D v4. but global or scotland don't appear to be there.

Well... you didn't answer the question about EU Scotland in my last post. Is it there in FTX Central 3?

You picture does clear up one thing and raises more problems.

You're posting in the "Flight Simulator X and Steam" section and didn't mention that you have Prepar3d V4.

P3d V4 has special install requirements. Do it wrong and many people have to do a COMPLETE uninstall, which includes finding all of the Prepar3d Files spread throughout your computer.

According to your picture you don't have FTX_GLOBAL installed. FTX_GLOBAL is the foundation upon which all other add-ons are built.

In answer to your question about EU_Scotland, yes it is. And i only went onto P3D v4 last night and having the same issues. I don't know why none of them are installing, considering the amount of time it apparently is taking.

I've just checked on the Orbx website and they no longer list FTX Global as a requirement for lower level scenery.

When that changed, if it did, I don't know.

At any rate, you say that you have it but you're picture says that it isn't installed.

Now if you say that you have it installed, but it's not showing in your list, you may also not have EU Scotland installed.

EU Scotland should be in - ORBX > FTX_EU

So far, ever since they started using FTX Central 3, I've had no problems installing Orbx scenery.

Are you copying it from FSX or P3d V3 instead of installing it to Prepar3d V4?

Whatever the answer, you're doing something different.

That or your P3d V4 is corrupt.

And if that's the case then uninstalling the Orbx scenery and reinstalling it isn't going to work.

If you have corrupted V4 files, your best bet then is to go to the Prepar3d website and follow their uninstall procedure EXACTLY. Only the exact procedure will remove all of the files on your computer.

To be fair i've had the same issue on FSX. When i installed V4, when i opened up FTX central, i selected the V4 option, then installed my available add onsthat way. The same way i have done with my FSX and v3.

Fine. But SOMETHING is wrong, and I don't think that it's FTX Central 3. Too many people are using it without a problem. What is different about YOUR computer?

So tell me are these files and folder in your flight sim?
