I don't have any link at the moment but the topics about the NVidia settings are quite common on various forums.
The most usual areas of focus are:
- the usage of "Sparse Grid SuperSampling (SGSS)" antialiasing which is the only way to obtain a decent antialiasing quality in DX10 preview mode, but which is also a real FPS killer when flying in clouds or smoke.
- The usage of the frame rate limiter with FSX set to unlimited in an attempts to get a smoother sim
- The usage of "adaptative + 1/2 refresh rate" vertical synchronization mode to try to kill the micro-stutters
Some of these settings are only available within NVidia Inspector.

Thanks for the reply, it's something that has always confused me. On the whole I'm happy with leaving FSX to control things but I do get some shimmering on certain fences and bridges. :think:

n.i.....is this the current version 1.9.7.8.?.........and which are the latest guidelines?......nick's.............hmmmm......on this version...microsoft flight simulator x doesn't exist ....hmmmmmm
