Dave, I think you may be right when you suggested it may be a W10 problem. Who knows?
If there's anyone running AICarriers under Windows10 I'd like to hear from them.

Anyway. I appreciate all your efforts.

All the best for now.

To confirm: I've just successfully installed the .NET version of AICarriers from Azframer's link to FSX Gold + Acceleration on my Windows10 64-bit laptop.

Note that the active EXE.xml which you need to edit is in this location (which might be different to Win7) ;
C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX

As I have other entries in the file I only used this part of the example entry.

<Launch.Addon>
<Name>AICarriers</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
<Path>C:\FSX\Tools\AICarriers\AICarriers.exe</Path>
</Launch.Addon>

</SimBase.Document>

The new entry goes directly below the previous entries & above the final line which I've identified in Bold type.

Hope this helps.

Hi Hagar.

I really thought you may have been onto something, but alas no.
I was editing the wrong .xml file but have now followed your path to the new location, although I assume the entries after "Your Name" are hidden as I had to search to find them. Also the path to my aicarriers.exe is different to yours as mine is in a different location but I'm confident the path is correct. Still have no aicarriers in my add-on drop down menu and shift j does nothing. FSUIPC is however present in the drop down although it doesn't appear in the EXE.xml file?

Thanks for your efforts on my behalf.

Zaphod.

Have you tried a manual install of aicarriers2, the manualinstall.zip file only contains 3 files aicarriers folder you can put it anywhere/the install instructions /example exe.xml which you change the path to suit your needs using notepad and only notepad to modify the text, rename to just EXE.xml and placing in the user/pcname/appdata/roaming/Microsoft/fsx folder which is hidden by default. I think it is the exe.xml causing you the trouble as this is the only thing that when removed or wrong path to exe stops aicarriers working in W7.

To find FSX cfg file type: %AppData%\Microsoft\FSX in you start menu run box.
For FSX SE type: %APPDATA%\Microsoft\FSX-SE

That is where you should find your EXE.XML file
I have in Windows 8.1:
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
<Name>AICarriers</Name>
<Path>C:\Program Files (x86)\AICarriers\aicarriers.exe</Path>

When you correct your EXE.XML file restart your FSX and run the exe file on your desktop.
