Hi Doug,

To me, it sounds like overheating.
Either it's your CPU, or your video card, but something is going worse and worse as long as you fly.
Instead of going from point A to point B, could you try a long (but very boring) flight around your start airport, to check if the performance still drops ?
You should be getting much more than 18 FPS in an empty area, even with the OrbX night lights on... My guess is that the increase of temperature causes the drop in performance.
I don't think the temperature indicated on your box is reliable. It's probably the general temperature in there, not the individual CPU or GPU temperatures.
You should try to launch a temperature monitor program which would show this information more precisely. I don't have any names in mind, though :/

Hi Stephane

Program: Speedfan 4.52

This computer is used only for Microsoft FSX Deluxe/Acceleration...no other games are on it...

CPU usage during the 45 minutes varied from 26 to 44.4%

Automatic Fan Speed ON

PWM 1 to 5 all read 27%

Start (spot view) (cockpit view)
Fans..2 & 4 only have two wires so probably not registering but are working
(1) 2157 RPM cockpit view not taken
(2) 0 RPM
(3) 1430 RPM
(4) 0 RPM
(5) 1409

15 Minutes
(1) 2184 RPM 2220 RPM
(2) 0 RPM 0 RPM
(3) 1427 RPM 1424 RPM
(4) 0 RPM 0 RPM

30 Minutes

(2) 0 RPM 0 RPM
(3) 1433 RPM 1436 RPM
(4) 0 RPM 0 RPM
(5) 1464 RPM 1458 RPM

45 Minutes
(1) 2125 RPM 2185 RPM
(2) 0 RPM 0 RPM
(3) 1435 RPM 1439 RPM
(4) 0 RPM 0 RPM
(5) 1465 RPM 1460 RPM

Start Spot View Cockpit View >>15 Minutes Spot View Cockpit View >>30 Minutes Spot View Cockpit View >>45 Minutes Spot View Cockpit View
Degrees Celsius
GPV... 63 66 66 66 66 66 66
Temp 1... 31 31 31 31 31 31 31
Temp 2... 40 41 41 41
Temp 3... 50 52 51 51
HD2... 38 38 39 39
HD1... 32 32 32 32
HDO... 44 44 44 44
Temp 1... 28 28 28 28
Temp 2... 30 30 30 30

Tried everything I could think of to get a Screenshot of Speedfan running in the FSX Simulated Flight.
-used the "V" Key in FSX
-tried Print Screen

Would not show up.

Sorry Stephane, had the above laid out in a Chart Form and this is the way it came out... :o

Not sure if the above Helps or Not Stephane... <<q

Doug, I can't offer anything that others haven't said, but NICE pictures. :D

One thing just occurred to me - Are you using Windows 10? Have you had one of the many recent updates?

I recently let it update. The FPS dropped in Prepar3d, and occasionally my computer would stop working to one degree or another.

There was also a video card update, and I installed that too.

FPS went up significantly, and I've had no more lock-ups at all.

You have NVidia, and I AMD, but it might be worth looking into.

Thanks "OAM" ... <<u

Yes I am using that Blasted Windows 10 and did the Updates a couple of days ago.

Will have a look at your other Post where you mentioned the Problem Update.

Right now going to finish this simulated cross country and hope it stays running.

I just informed this Electronic Gizmo it is MINUS 24 Celsius outside without the Windchill Factor.

It could end up sleeping by the River if it gives me more trouble...

Can someone please tell me why Real Flying was so much Easier :?:

Thanks Doug for posting the temperatures.
They don't seem too high at all, though...
Then I have no idea what is bringing your FPS so low with time. :(
Are your FPS set to unlimited or set to a fix value in the game settings ?

Hi Stephane

I set my Frame Rates in the Game to a fix rate for example 30.
