Can anyone tell me how to save a screenshot in FSX SE and make a thumbnail pic for textures I've repainted?

Press the V key to take the shots. They will be automatically saved in BMP format to a sub-folder named "Flight Simulator X - Steam Edition Files" in your Pictures folder on your C: drive. As a repainter I'm sure you know how to resize an image & save it in JPEG format. Thumbnails should be named thumbnail.jpg

I believe there's a small program that does that automatically, isn't there ?
Something like autothumbnail... I don't remember the exact name...

Unfortunately it no longer works with Windows 8/10.

The easiest and fastest way to do this is as old as the moon. No software to install and configure. Just get IrFanview (small footprint graphics editor - FREE) and then press the key(s) for 'ScrnPrnt' (save screen to clipboard). Then 'Paste' into IrFanview, crop area (drag left mouse button), Copy (Icon), press 'D' key (clears screen), and Paste (Icon). Then for thumbnail resize to '345xXXX'. ADD TEXT to graphic - works good. Tricky but good. Then 'Save As' (browse) to texture folder as 'thumbnail.jpg'. Done.
If you are in Sim, press 'ScrnPrnt', pause Sim, minimize, and go do the above. When done, un-pause and go find your thumbnail. The beauty of this is that you don't even have to have IrFanview running. You only open it when you need it and close it when it's done. BUT you can have 5 instances of it running and minimized. Try that with paint or other progs - won't happen. You can edit 'Color Correction' (under 'Image' menu) to increase / decrease Brightness, Gamma and Intensity. You can't beat IrFanview. Period.
