777-300 vc error

Hi all,

Was wondering if anybody can please help me.
I have recently downloaded the posky 777-300 with the british airways livery from here, when the plane loads it all seems to look fine but as soon as i go into the vc view the windsheild is completely untransparent and looks like there are clouds on it. I have looked online everywhere for this fix, i then also tried to download other liveries for the plane thinking it might just be the one and they all look the same with the untransparent windshield view.
Has anybody come across this issue and how did you fix it please?
I really want a good flyable 777-300

Thanks

Hi & welcome

Can you please name the file and what you are using it in? It most likely has to do with VC textures.
Easily fixed -- & there are many great 777-300 & 200

Is this the one? http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1 ... p&x=9&y=11

Hi Pete, thanks for your reply.

Yes that is the first one i downloaded, and it didnt have a clear windsheild so i have tried to download others similar and they have the same problem.

Im using microsoft flight simulator gold edition with the accelaration expansion pack.
Hope this helps. Really just want a british airways 777-300 to fly.

Thanks

Craig

OK well I see the VC textures of the one in question are .dds (inside the textures folder)

Please try this - download attached .bmp vc textures -

All the textures that have the 'VC' in the filename ------- e.g. 'os777_VC_01_l.bmp' , etc
Delete the .dds VC texture of your BA aircraft and copy and paste in the VC textures in BMP format. Hopefully this will fix it.

(though I am surprised that the dds textures don't work ------ I dont' use FSX anymore, I use P3D, but it hasn't been that long ago and I am sure I checked out many aircrtaft with those dds textures in FSX ... )

Hi pete, thank once again for your hasty reply.

Im sorry im not sure i know what you mean. I am not seeing any texture files ending in .dds

I have attached a file to show the texture files i am seeing in the aircraft folder . Also i have attached a picture of the vc view when i am in the cockpit.

What folders should i be looking in?

Thanks again

Craig

Hi Pete,

Sorry I was checking the message on my phone, and didn't realise there was an attachment from you.

I will check this out now. The attachment you have sent, is that usable in the aircraft files?

thanks

Craig

Hi Pete,

Iv tried replacing the 21 vc texture files with the attached files you sent and I am still having the same problem as soon as the airport cache loads up.
I have also downloaded the air France 777-300 you advised and replaced the files from there, and my virtual cock pit is still untransparent with clouds on the windshield.

thanks

Craig

Well I loaded up FSX (Acceleration) and the file in question (as it is - including .dds vc textures) and all is ok for me.

Really not sure what to suggest. Maybe you can provide a little more info about your settings/ graphic card/ .. all other addon aircraft work OK? Including other freeware airliners?

Hi pete, thank you so much for all your help.

I have managed to sort it with what you said, i took all the files from a previously downloaded 777 that was partly working and copied them into the texture files and now i have a windshield on a BA 777-300 which i can now see out of.

Now i need to find out why my multi panel wont work properly with the aircraft but for now i will enjoy some flying with my new plane.

Thanks mate, massively appreciate all your help :)
