Default file deleted

Postby suden111 » Thu Sep 22, 2016 7:40 am

Hi guys, I accidentally deleted the default folder Bombardier CRJ-700 form the airplane folder in fsx SE. How can I get it back. I don't have any CD because when I bought it, it was installed automatically from the Steam website. I think if I could get that folder and put it back where it belongs, everything would be fine. Thank you

If it was downloaded into your hard drive you can go to your download file and just redownload it back into your flight sims. But to be up front with you I am no expert but Hager, GaryB or Pete our moderater will probulary guide you better than me if this is not right. We have many fine people who can help.

You can open Steam, and in the menu you have the option of making a security copy of FSX an then restore. It is recommended to have this security copy.

If it was me I would simply install a better version of the many CRJ-700's that are available. Default aircraft are pretty basic. If you really want the default - again there are versions available for download - just do a simple simviation search

The first thing I would do if I accidentally delete anything is to look in the Recycle Bin. I presume you've already done that?

Thank you for your replies but I found it and I'm gonna share it with you if something similar happens to somebody else...

"You do this by going to your Steam Page, Click View at the top left and Click Game Details in the drop down bar, this will bring you to your list of Games. Find FSX, right click and click Properties.
You will see this. Click Local Files, then click Verify Integrity Of Game Cache. This will rerun the installer and replace any damaged or missing files"

You should give credit where it's due. You got this answer from ZIPPY at FltSimCom forums. Right? Right!

Who cares where he got the info from? The point is he found the answer he was looking for and as noted, he wanted to share it with everyone here.
Heaven forbid information get shared across different forums. At least the OP was called out before he took it too far...Right?

The OP should be commended for helping spread information across multiple sources, for the benefit of all flight simmers where ever they may dwell on the internet.
Hopefully Zippy will call off his law team...and we can get back to what really matters. <<s

+1

No need to be sorry for anything.
Thank you for posting, suden111
You found another answer to those already posted above (which I am sure are 100% fine). You posted it here. Jeez imagine if we had to give credit for every piece of info we posted on forums. Nightmare!
