Has any anyone had a go at getting the new Manfred Jahn cockpit shoehorned into the Awe4some DC-3 I've tried but so far no luck.

Cheers
Rich

What have you done so far? (I don't have the awesum4sum dc3 so can't try it)

Normal method would be to
1. Add interior model to the model folder
2. Edit model.cfg to include 'interior=C47R_interior' (comment out '//' any other interior model in the model.cfg)
3. Next is to add the VC/ interior model textures - in this case it is probably the 'textures' folder of the C47 and add the 'texture.cfg' containing this text:

[fltsim]
fallback.1=..\texture.weathered
fallback.2=..\texture
fallback.3=..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture
fallback.4=..\..\..\..\..\..\Scenery\Global\texture

to the other textures folder in the awesum4sum dc3

If there is already a folder called simply 'texture' you will have to rename it.

4. Edit the aircraft.cfg to fix the views section - so it would be the [views] from the aircraft internal model you are adding and comment out (//) the old views

Like I say I don't have the other model so can't actually try it out

Hi Pete

That was one method I tried with no luck, I also tried adding the V3 cockpit textures to one of the Awesome texture folders and even tried copying the whole .texture folder the V3 folder to the Awesome folder after deleting the original. I hope that makes sense. :think:

Edit

I'm thinking that if it can be made to work with the default DC-3 then it should work with the Awe4Some models, I just thought it would be nice to have a DC-3 on Floats/Skis with the new cockpit.

Cheers

I forgot to mention this --- (otherwise you may have successfully added the VC but just haven't spotted it 25m behind you .... :D )

4. Edit the aircraft.cfg to fix the views section - so it would be the [views] from the aircraft internal model you are adding and comment out (//) the old views

>> in this case

[views]
eyepoint = -6.50, -1.40, 3.0
//eyepoint = **old views here**

If you still can't do it and no one else can resolve this -- I'll take a look with default DC3 tonight or tomorrow as I'm out for rest of today

I'm downloading the Awesome 4Some DC-3 now. If you tell me where to get this new VC you're talking about I'll check it out for you.

I presume the VC you wish to use is the one included with this file --> http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1&keywords=C-47R&x=11&y=8
I've succeeded in merging the VC to the Awesome 4Some DC-3. I suggest trying it out on one variation first. Obviously make backup copies of all files/folders before modifying them.

First I pasted a copy of C47R_interior.MDL into one of the Model folders of the DC-3, editing model.cfg accordingly.

[models]
normal=Douglas_LC47
//interior=Douglas_DC3_Interior
interior=C47R_interior

Renamed the existing Panel folder to Panel.0 before pasting a copy of the C-47 Panel folder in alongside it.

Copied the complete contents of the Douglas_C-47_V3.12_Beta\texture folder & pasted them into the Douglas_DC3\texture folder.

Finally edited the Views section of the Douglas_DC3 Aircraft.cfg like this.

[Views]
eyepoint = -5.6, -1.4, 3.26
//-6.495, -1.4, 3.26

I think that should do it. Please give it a go.
