File request

Good morning all...

I was about to start taking OFF everything that belongs to Microsoft FSX including all payware, Orbx, Rex etc.etc.

I read on the internet other folks getting the problem of these Black Boxes around Nav Lights and Rotating Beacon.

It seems one of the problems is a missing file...

FX_2.bmp needs to be replaced

Is there a way someone can send this file to me :?:

Would like to place it in Effects>Texture Folder to see it that works...if not I am in for a long Uninstall/Install...

I have Windows 10 and FSX Deluxe if that makes a difference...

Did you try the repair by using the FSX #1 Disc . That is what worked for me. I inserted the first disc and when it came up to chose or repair the program I hit the repair and waited until it ran its cycle and it promoted me to install the second disc and when all of that was completed I fired it back up and it worked beautify. I didn`t have to reinstall any ac or scenery. Mine still works flawlessly with out having to change any of my files. I hope this will work for you like it did for me!!!!homeboy

Hi papituwall...

Tried three times to make the change but still got Black Boxes around the Nav and Rotating Beacon Lights...

Think it is about time to do a complete Uninstall of FSX and everything associated with it...what a pain...

Thanks for your help and have a Great Day...

If you are looking for a repair folder on the FSX disks you will not find one as it does not exist. Normally when you insert disk 1 of FSX your system will know that you have the program installed and that is when you get the option to repair it. This is the way most programs will work. However sometimes you actually have to try to install it before it will ask you if you want to repair it. It depends on how the programmer set it up.
If you do select the repair option you have to let it run its course or nothing will happen if you interrupt the repair.

Thanks Stephane...much appreciated...checking out Shockwave Lights this morning and will let everyone know how I make out.

Seems this problem has existed for quite some time reading on the internet. Quite a few different approaches and according to some of the replies very few work.

Appears your options list is shrinking quickly.

Couple suggestions for you to investigate.
Black box around the light leads me to believe that it might be a texture issue. I think you've tried replacing the texture already
Is there a possible problem with the texture sizes?
Perhaps the alpha channels are wrong?
DX10 preview issue?
