EVA 787-10 Download Missing Wing Views

Postby blackgranada77 » Mon May 16, 2016 4:18 pm

Just downloaded the EVA 787-10. Download went without any problems and aircraft showed up fully intact on the ground and in the air except for aircraft ( cabin ) views looking out seat 5a etc. I have no wing showing up just the lights where the end of the wing should be. Does anyone else have this problem or is this how it was made. Tried adjusting the zoom in/out but no wing. Thanks, Dave

Dave T. Thanks for replying to my post. Did you see any lights at the wing tip positions? Dave A.

Just lights hanging in the air

A virtual cabin is not mentioned in any of the text docs just the upgraded VC cockpit.

I have not down loaded this aircraft but from your posts this aircraft has a huge problem I would say the designer of the plane left something out.
The wing views are usually defined in the aircraft cfg file but are always from some point of view on the model. Since You can see the aircraft from spot view or tower view that tells me the model is not the problem here.
You will need to go through the Aircraft CFG file and look through all of the camera definitions the first line in any camera definition is a line that reads GUID= followed by some hexadecimal number I have no idea as to what that means the lines beneath this line completely define the view it is somewhere in one of these lines is where you problems lie.
Good luck finding it
If it was me i would just trash the aircraft as I just do not know enough about these views.
It more than likely a typo error in one of the lines or a line has been left out.
You only other option is to contact the designer.

More than likely the wings were not modeled for the cabin views. The internal model used for the VC and cabin views is a separate model, as opposed to the external visual model. A lot of external details tend to be eliminated for the internal views in order to cut down the polygon count for the model when viewed from the VC or passenger cabin.

FYI...

For the record, The folks at TDS don't have a VC Artist on staff; that's why none of their base Models are equipped with a VC.

Regardless of which Panel or VC that's merged with the TDS Model, there are bound to be some quirks trying to look outside from the cockpit.

Just my 2¢ here...
