Hi guys,

I've bought a new PC and I want to use it to play with FSX. I need to re-install my FSX and to activate it. Actually the game is installed on a different PC and has been activated only once. Will the software allow me to re-install & activate it? Thank you for your help.

Yes, it will. As far as I know/experienced you can install five times. After that you have to go thru a tedious automatic phone call procedure where you have a new one time key. I did this several times.

Good luck!

If you have it on disc, then I think you will be allowed 2 activations on different machines. There is no limit to the number of times you can activate it on the same machine, provided that you have not made any significant alterations to the hardware configuration. If you use up your activations, you can phone the Microsoft helpline and they will give you a further two activations free of charge. Terms and conditions are in the "eula" file in the main FSX folder.

Thank you Sinkrate!

Yes, I have FSX Deluxe on disc and the activation key is printed on a label, attached to the disc case.

The EULA document says:
9. TRANSFER TO ANOTHER DEVICE. You may uninstall the software and install it on another device for your use. You may not do so to share this license between devices.

I assume that I have do remove it from the actual PC before installing to the new one? Have you some experience about it?

In my experience, you get two discrete activations so you can have it running on two machines simultaneously. I have reinstalled it on the same machine countless times after system crashes with no problems. When I installed it on my latest machine (Win 10), I had run out of activations so I phoned Microsoft's help desk in India and they gave me a code which reset my activations to two. I now have it running on two machines (XP & Win 10) with a spare activation in hand.
