FSX Downloads come up as "invisible Jets"?

Hello everyone. I am currently running windows8.1 and Fight Sim FSX. I have downloaded numerous aircraft to add to my FSX and used them without problems. There are however some, that I download, install and they show up as an invisible aircraft. The cockpit and usually the wheels are visible and nothing else. What file do I need to amend to get the whole aircraft?

As always - we need to know a specific file you have a problem with. Then I or someone else can look at it and we can see if there is a problem.

Aside from possible problems with specific add-ons, check to see if the "Preview DirectX 10" box is un-checked in the Settings->Custom: Graphics page of the User Interface:

I should add, if the box is checked, un-check it.
