Runtime Error R6205 Pure Virtual Function Call With 777

Hi all,

Started on FSX:SE recently and downloaded several jets; A380, A330 and B777 from simviation.

These jets are working fine with the exception of B777. Whenever I starts to fly with B777, FSX:SE would quit after some time with a Runtime Error R6205 Pure Virtual Function Call. i tried with the different variants of B777s, the most recent SIA and CX B777 add-on but the same error occurred about 45mins into my flight.

All settings and scenery are on defaults and I tried to lower down the AI flights and vehicles as suggested when I googled for solutions. I tried to uninstall and re-install FSX:SE and Windows 10 several times. However, the error still persisted.

Nowadays, I only fly the A380 and A330 to avoid the error. i would really love to fly the B777 again.

Anyone encounter this error and possible solutions to overcome it?

These are the 2 add-ons.

Boeing 777-306ER Singapore Airlines package
Boeing 777-300ER Singapore Airlines with new Virtual Cockpit with FMC

It happens when I switched the view from outside view to the virtual cockpit view and back to outside view again. Part of the aircraft will show a different texture and follow by the error.

I can only acknowledge and FSX:SE will proceed to quit.

Well I don't have Steam - I have FSX Acceleration and I can't replicate your problem.

This is the aircraft I checked out -- http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1 ... p&x=29&y=9

Outside view - followed by VC view - then outside again --- no problem seen ....... :think:

Thanks for the prompt response, appreciates that.

Meanwhile, Let me replicate the problem and I post it with the screen shot with the error.

Happens again after an hour of flight time.

I was switching views and the error prompts immediately after I switched from outside to this current view.

Hello Toons, I'm guessing you are having this problem because the panel that comes with that aircraft package: the jb777 panel. I suggest you read the forum post called "FMC Problem" a few topics down from this post. That panel has some C++ stuff that could cause that problem if the jb777 panel is not installed correctly. It is fairly easy to install and comes with clear directions, you can can download it from here. Of course this is all just a hunch. :?

Thanks Awaken. I am now adding the JB777 FMC readme to that file (you can just redownload the file and the readme will be included)

He Pete and Awaken,

I appreciate your updates, thanks a lot.

I'm new to flight sim and trying to understand the solution.

The jb 777 panel you referring to are those square panel as in my screen shot, right? Reason I'm asking is I observed that the borders of the panels as shown in the VC are kind of "shiny" and reflecting shades of grey right from the moment I take off to the error. I'm not sure if this is related to the error.

Do I download and install the file as given in Awaken's link to resolve the issue, including for my current 777 add-on? Hence, I need not do anything to my current add-on.

Or I need to edit the fsx config file as indicated in the FMC problems thread? If this is the case, what is the exact file name?

Can't wait to try out the solutions once I reach home. Hopefully, this will resolve my problem and I can fly the 777 again instead of the usual Airbus models.

Many thanks. :clap:

Make sure the file you downloaded has the jb panels readme included as it took some time to upload the corrected file (slow connecttion due to freezing weather I guess .... 8-) )

In other words, I just download the file and install to resolve the issue, right?

Will try once I reach home.

The funny thing is when I click the link outside, it directed me to the Boeing 777-200ER Ultimate Pack. However, it directed me to the SIA orange liveries one when I reached home instead. Anyway, I downloaded the file and wrote over my previous version.

The ReadMe has this instruction about "Place files in Modules folder into main FSX 'Modules' folder".

I can't locate my modules folder in the main FSX folder or anywhere else.

No Modules folder in FSX Steam? I'm surprised. You could try creating one -- but that would be experimental and may not work.

You could opt for an easier life and just download a 777 without the jb777 FMS -- http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1 ... &filename=

There's no Modules folder in my FSX Gold either. I copied this from the instructions;

FMC Installation
----------------

Copy jb777_fmc.dll into the FSX\Modules directory. Create the Modules directory if it doesn't exist.

The dll.xml file tells FSX to load the jb777 fmc when FSX starts. It contains a <Launch.Addon> section that specifies what to load and where to find it.

The <Launch.Addon> section that must be added is as follows:

<Launch.Addon>
<Name>jb777 fmc</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<Path>Modules\jb777_fmc.dll</Path>
<DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
<DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
</Launch.Addon>

Many commercial addon installers modify the dll.xml file to add one or more <Launch.Addon> sections.
Make sure you backup the dll.xml before editing it.

Well I have one and there are several files in there including jb777, fsuicp

Maybe you can create a Modules folder in your main FSX directory. You may also have to allow it to be accessed and written to (file permissions). Whatevre - it won't be difficult because I have it and I don't even remember creating it ...
