Should I download a "Demo" Scenery..?

Postby Russell » Wed Nov 18, 2015 11:03 pm

I am thinking about using a "Demo" scenery. I remember years ago, "Demo" aircraft, and "Demo" sceneries were for temporary use only, and they had visible banners, messing up your views, and reminding you, that you were using a "Demo". Is this still true? I've noticed lately, some "Demo" sceneries for major U.S. cities, say nothing about banners, or limited time use. In fact, these freeware "Demo" sceneries make it sound as if, you can use them forever, and the descriptions sound like they're just as good as their paid versions. Am I missing something? Thanks..... I don't want to waste my time. Can you advise me, please?

Thank you for replying. I really want to know whether your use of these, ( modern ), "demo" sceneries is only temporary, before you have to buy the pay version, or lose the future use of the "demo"? Or, whether there are banners floating around the corners of your viewing screen, as a constant reminder that you're using a " demo"? That's the way "demos" always used to be, but that was a few years ago. I hope things have changed. I'm asking and reaching out to the simmer community, because I don't know. Thanks everybody......

As a rule of thumb most demos are limited by either the number of times you use it or by a number of days you use it and after that you will have to buy it. Sometimes thy are time sensative by that I mean it will let you use it for a certain amount of time.
