If it is a fresh disc installation, then I wonder if it is not the old "UIAutomation.dll" problem again?
You know, the file "UIAutomation.dll" that ships with w7 and later is not compatible with FSX.

viewtopic.php?f=21&t=170761&p=1264526#p1264508

Basically FSX crashes after a number of mouse clicks. Put a copy of the old VISTA "UIAutomation.dll" file directly in your FSX root directory, if you have not done so already.

Maybe, just maybe?

Let's be fair. The question was seeking a solution to a problem in Windows 10. There are millions of users that love Windows 10 and would love to carry on using FSX under Windows 10. I for one have no problems period with using FSX under Windows 10, neither did I have problems under Windows 8.1. I never did use Windows 7 or Vista and carried out a faultless upgrade to Windows 10. I like Windows 10 so much that I paid for, yes paid for a brand new copy of Windows 10 for my XP laptop, which now runs FSX faultlessly, even though it only has 2Gb memory. I wonder why this is seeing there are so many other people that can't get their FSX to work under Windows 10? My guess is that there is a lack of patience to follow suggestions or to work things out. I would also guess that some people only use a computer for playing games and flying sims rather than exploring the many other avenues of innovation that a computer is capable of. True, flight simming is a pleasurable pastime but it isn't the end of the world. Some people need to get a life, or get a motorbike or something.

hi guys
Thanks for the replys, for some strange reason fsx has started working ok on w.10 without me doing anything to it, the only time it stops working is if I move the aircraft to another location on the map.
I tried installing acceleration but had to uninstall it because its not asking for the activation code
