We need more information such as what version of windows are you using and what are the specs of your system? Where is FSX installed at
Your problem could be a hard drive problem.
One option would be to try and repair it by inserting the disk and click on repair. The only other option is to uninstall and reinstall. If you uninstall be sure to remove the FSX CFG file as it will not be removed because it is in a different location.

If this is the same problem that I had with mine, what I had to do was go into my documents and find flight simulator simulator X files, open it up and find the Logbook.bin file and remove it. This will erase all of you logbook times and start a new logbook but will get rid of the freeze when loading Flight simulator X. I have to do this quite often as my start up will freeze and not load after I have accumulated about 100 to 200 flights in the logbook file.
Hope this helps you out.

Wowzers.... ;) ....

Your system, like mine, should run FSX as sweet as a nut!

So, as Garry suggested, you may have a problem with your original installation!

...or...

Like me...after clicking on the FSX Icon, you have to wait a while for everything to sort itself out, and load everything up, before the Sim actually starts to run, and things start to happen!

The copy I have only has TWO discs in it one for FSX and the other is Acceleration But my copy was bought not to long ago.
As for a repair option the only way to find out is to insert the FSX install cd and see what happens. If there is a repair option it should come up automatically. <<u
