Thanks Jet for the link it looks great but than one has to ask will any of the aircraft or scenery or other third party software we currently have work with it?I sure would hate to have to star all over again. And last but not least how much is it going to cost?

Well, that's just it, I ain't givin up all my Carenado Aircraft, like 7 of them, or my 2 Albero props, or my PMDG 747's, or CLS 747'S, or Captain Sim 707's & 727's & 737's , ain't happnin' !

not to mention the 25 payware sceneries I have and the other 327 Freeware add on' sceneries either !

Looking at that link I'm wondering if other scenery addons will be needed..........but yes, aircraft compatibility might be an issue for some. Come what may FSX and P3d will be superseded at some point, it's inevitable.


As for price. I've just checked my log and I've done 387 hours in P3D 2.5. At 60 quid that's about 15 pence per hour. Pretty cheap form of entertainment.

Doesn't look like 'new graphics stuff' so much as a revised new FS. But those behind it seem to have a rather conservative approach and I think they may have problems with this project - admirable as it is.

I started simming way before Bruce Artwick created what became MSFS. I remember playing with a university flight simulator my dad had in his faculty in the 1970's. Black screen and white dots for a runway. . As well as being a real private pilot. I think the biggest problem for new sims now is that most people are moving away from traditional PC's for entertainment. Although there are still millions in existance in almost every country, very few kids are using them for their 'games'. So that new blood has been almost cut off for the hobby.

The beauty and key to success of the MSFS series was it's addon-ability --- and FREE. Which meant that it was possible for someone with a moderate amount of effort to create addons as a hobby and make them available to others. Plus the technogy was current for it's time.

It's a mistake to rely on the hard core enthusiasts, who will spend a lot of money on their sim, as a target audience. They are a tiny number. I'm certainly not one of them. I rarely see an aircraft or scenery where I can't get something just about as good (or better) for free. Combined with that, any new sim should be compatible with as many new technology platforms as possible -- MS/Google(Android)/Apple/Sony.

And I certainly wouldn't buy a sim where every addon came at a price and from prescribed sources rather than an open source worldwide community. That was the biggest failure of 'Flight'

I'm working on add on washing lines for that very graphics scenery. I already have 2 pairs of boxers in black and white and a pair of union jack jockey briefs made up. I'm steering clear of bras and panties, preferring to leave them for Fozz.

I'm just wondering if my computer will be able to handle these graphics. I bought FSX Deluxe Edition as soon as it became available and it made my then-brand-new computer run like Jabba the Hutt on sleeping pills.
