In Acceleration Shift+I doesn't work to launch

Postby slimcooper2002 » Tue Oct 06, 2015 4:06 am

Hi Everyone, I've had to re-install fairly recently and everything was working fine. But now I try to launch off a carrier and Shift+U brings down the launch bar, but when I try to engage, Shift+I, nothing happens, no blast shield, nothing. I try to launch but there is no cat assist, just the thrust from the aircraft resulting in a splashdown. I've tried it with Dan Cattaneos F14D, his T45 Goshawk, and the games F18. All have same result. Ive looked for a command in the control settings but Im not sure what its called. I tried "engage launch bar" but its not listed. Shift+I is assigned to "Clear Pitot Tube" or something relating to pitot tube. It worked after the re-install because I have completed missions and I haven't re assigned it to anything else.

Don't know if you have a joystick...but. Assign a key to the launch button and make it active when you release said button.

The Catapult Commands should be...

Catapult (arm/disarm) SHIFT + I
Launch Bar (extend/retract) SHIFT + U
Catapult Trigger SHIFT + SPACEBAR

If you have any of these keys assigned to something else just change the previous assignment and incorporate these. Hope this helps. :)

P.S. Never used the "Clear Pitot Tube" in FSX or real life flying. Strange command I must say. :?:

An Aircraft Mechanic only needs two tools, Duct Tape and WD40.
If it moves and it's not supposed to - use the Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and it's supposed to - use the WD40.

Why not use the "clear pitot tube" command? Why would you want to fly around with the pitot tube cover on all the time?

I would love to assign it to launch, but I can't find a command in the list of button assignments that means launch. I've looked for "catapult", "launch", "arm/disarm", "engage". I just found it under "take-off assist arm/disarm". Thank you for the replys

In your SETTINGS - CONTROLS - BUTTONS/KEYS Look for the following "Events"

Launch bar (extend/retract) This should be SHIFT + U
Takeoff assist (arm/disarm) This should be SHIFT + I
Takeoff assist (trigger) This should be SHIFT + SPACE {as in SPACE BAR}

I don't have any aircraft that require me to "clear the pitot tube" For those that do have plugs the plugs disappear when I start the engine.

If you are using AIcarriers... and you have set yourself on a carrier that you have spawned.. you must turn the boat to the wind for the launch sequence.
FSX Acceleration.. FSrealWX..VLSO..AICarriers...FSWC....WOAI...MilitaryAI....Windows 10....

Taxi up to the white and red checkered square at the beginning of the catapult with your launch bar extended. Hit Shift I when your nose wheel is in the square, this will raise the jet blast fence. Then go to full power, full up elevator and shift and spacebar when ready to launch! Good Luck! Check Six!! :music-rockon:

In my settings I found a command that said launch and merely applied a joystick button to that, and there was a check box that said apply on release. There are any number of ways around your problem...experiment!
