Sunken Airfields?

I'm hoping someone can help me or point me in the right direction. Recently I've been doing a lot of flying around southern central Alaska. I've started noticing sunken airfields in some places. It's always smallish airfields never the large ones and I've only noticed in Alaska. However that doesn't mean it's not elsewhere that's just the only place I've seen it. I don't have any add-on meshs and the only airport in this area would be Aerosoft's Fairbanks but I've had that quite a while. I have one of Snowdog's add-ons down around Ketchikan but that's not where I've seen the issue. The only other thing in this area is GEX North America. But again that's been on the machine awhile. The only other things I have with custom meshes would be Skiathos X and Raw Grit:PNG. I've never uploaded a picture to post but I have one and will try. Thanks for any help as to what might be the culprit. My mesh complexity is set at 75 and my mesh resolution is 2m. Again thanks!

One thing for sure this is definitely a scenery error. I suggest you deactivate any mesh in this area and check to see if the problem goes away.
If it does you know that it is one of the mesh files that are causing the issue. Than start activating them 1 at a time and check after each update.
I know this is a pain but it is the only way you are going to find the problem.
If the problem does not go away after turning off the mesh files you will have to start turning off the other scenery in the area as well.
The only other option is if you made a backup before you installed any thing.
I have yet to under stand why people update something without backing it up first.
This is one of my golden rules BACKUP before you make any changes PERIOD. Failure to do so will cause a issue sooner or later.
Not trying to blast you here. Just some friendly advise.

This kind of thing was a issue with FS9 one of the reasons for the update that was released.

Blast away. Kick is I haven't made any updates or added anything in months. Aircraft but no scenery. The only thing even remotely in this area is the snowdog add on and fairbanks x. Other than what was stated above, no custom meshes. Snowfogs I could lose but not Fairbanks. If that's it I'll live with it. Yes I have backups but there so blame old I don't know what it goes back to. Yes it's been that long since I added scenery. Thanks for the help.

I've never seen this happen on an fresh FS install, with the exception of the FS9 "spike". If you could tell me exactly where that is, I can go check it in my FSX install and see if it's the same.

Tomorrow when I'm in fsx, I'll write the name of the airfield down and let you know what it is. I appreciate your input. It's not a real killer just annoying. I haven't found but a couple that are that messed up and they're all small airfields. I'm wondering if it's the Snowdog seaplane add-on for Alaska I have. It's the only large area thing for Alaska that I have. As I stated the only large area mesh that I have period is Papua New Guinea. It seems highly unlikely that it's the issue but I suppose it could be. It's not such a big issue that I'd remove it. Thanks again! Fortunately I add mostly airplanes not scenery.

It is around 8ak8 or 9ak8. There are so many little airstrips in this area even looking at a map is hard to tell. I start at Anchorage and fly north to a series of small lakes. Weird thing is that I am having no other scenery issues anywhere at all. I also removed everything in this region but Fairbanks X. And that I'll keep either way. There are so many small airstrips in this area that one or two small ones won't matter that much. If you have time to check it Travis I'd be curious to hear what you find. Thanks! :-)

Not sure if I have flown around this area but do not recall seeing anything like this any where in FSX.
As I said earlier FS9 had all kinds of things like this.
Usually it is a result of some little thing you do that can cause something like this. Like you I doubt it if adding aircraft caused this problem. but if you changed anything that has to do with how your systems sees files things like this can happen. Even changing a font can cause a issue in a program that never had a problem before. So you need to think back and ask yourself what has changed on your system lately. Unless you have a corrupt file some place which is likely but not that likely. But even a mesh file that was added to another area can create a problem because of the way FSX process the scenery. One nasty habit of any version of FS is anything you add gets put at the top of the list and it can create all kinds of odd problems such as a tree or a VOR in the middle of a active runway is just one example. Sometimes new scenery needs to be on the bottom of the list so it is processed last.

Good to know about the scenery list and order. Any idea where meshes, In this case PNG mesh should be in the order of things? Nothing has really changed anything system wise that I'm aware of and I probably would be. I say that because I repair computers for a living and my sister says I'm fairly obsessive about knowing what's going on my system. I think the word she uses is less polite but you get the idea. :-)
The truth is I haven't added much but aircraft lately and I haven't seen this anywhere else, so I don't know when it started. It's not a killer by any means. I guess if it were a major airport it would be worse but since it'd not wide spread it isn't. Thank for any help though!
