PAX and CARGO Doors

Is there a way to get passenger and cargo doors to open on aircraft that don't have this already? Example- CV580 Multi Pack and L-188 Electra Multi Pack. When you use shift +E the caption says main exit open but nothing happens. Would like to fix it so it works. Thanks............

I am going out on a limb here but I am relatively certain that that is not possible as I think that has to be done at the time the aircraft is made, and if that is true you would first have the designer to send you the original files he used to create the aircraft with. And the odds that they will are slim and few.
Even with the files you would need a special program to compile them. One such program is called GMAX and using this program is not for the beginner as it is very complicated, unless you are familiar with 3d graphic design programs.

Thanks. Was afraid of that. Didn't hurt to ask.

Exits should be in config file. This happens to be from one of my Boeing 777. I am not sure on the how and whys. I did have a program and for the life of me I can not remember the name of it but it would fix all exit the model had. I thought it might be GSX or something like that. It always wanted to update.

[exits]
number_of_exits = 4
exit_rate.0 = 0.10 ;Percent per second
exit_rate.1 = 0.08 ;Percent per second
exit_rate.2 = 0.10 ;Percent per second
exit_rate.3 = 0.08 ;Percent per second

What you have here is true but I am 85% sure that if the plane was not made with exists this will not work.But it is likely that I am wrong here but I do not think so.

If the model was not made with doors you are not going to have doors no doubt about it. I am still looking for the add on that fixed openings, I had it saved on a hard drive that went bad on me and just cannot remember the name of it. If I remember correctly it also added airport equipment. I think it was GSX some years ago that allowed you to add doors, even if your model did not have doors the Jetways would connect correctly. Hell I might not be remembering correctly too.

Beta version of GSX is on this page here: http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index. ... 182.0.html
I just downloaded it and have not completely checked it out yet.

Have added exit section to aircraft.cfg but no luck. Not going to look for fix unless completely sure one is out there.

moving doors (or any moving part) are part of the aircraft .mdl file
same with the animation to move them.

if the original mdl has no door, your out of luck.

the door entries in the config file are only for aircraft moddled with doors.

I've have used Model Converter X to open .mdl files and view aircraft in 3D, and on the left side click on the various files assoc. with the .mdl file. It high lights the area on the model of the file you have chosen in the list on the 3D display. If it's animated a start/play/pause function will appear, and you will see the animation function work.

Then it's like everyone else said if it's not there, you won't have it. You can always contact the creator and ask if that person would add an animation to their aircraft. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

I thought I was correct in my statement. Like the last post and I stated the only way to get doors on a plane that does not have them is you need to have the files that were used to create them form the person that made the aircraft and it might not be the same person that uploaded it.
But the other problem you could run into is the program that was used to create the aircraft with . To my knowledge there are at least two and probably more programs out there that will do this one of them is GMAX and the other is the one mentioned in the other post. I am not sure if the files can be used by both programs as they can go about things differently.
The only other options is to design the plane from scratch your self, Find a different download that has working doors, Contact the creator and see if they will make one for you. Or go to the 3D design forum here and request one which will take time.
Just one of the many problems with FREEWARE aircraft. Some are great others not so great and some not worth anything except the trash can.
In my opinion the best aircraft is a PAYWARE aircraft as they painstakingly recreate the plane to as close to the real thing as they can get.
I have a few of them in my fleet and they are worth every penny.
The Ready For Push Back B747 was a payware aircraft but now has been released legally as freeware now,
But it is so close to the real thing that you can not use the auto engine start in FS as it will not work. You have to go step by step just as you would in the real thing.

Now that's what Im talking about. Doors that work and engines that you have to start just like in real life. Will check it out. Thanks.
