Can't say for sure but have you tried mapping the taxi lights command to a keyboard or joystick button? Is this in virtual cockpit or 2d?

Its just a fact that they don't work. Theres no mapping problem.
And there's little you can do about it besides use landing lights instead.
Usually those lights are attributed to the model, so it's not something easily fixed. They are simply nit modelled.
Aren'tyou glad you just paid for broken software that was released over 7 years ago!

There are a couple of aircraft that have working taxi lights but not many. And yes lights have to be defined a the time of modeling.
Most freeware aircraft fall into the same boat. I have several payware aircraft that have working taxi lights. That is just one advantage that Payware aircraft have over freeware.
A lot of freeware aircraft will not have there own panel they will use a default panel.And if there is one thing i despise is a four engine aircraft that is using a two engine panel but you see it a lot.

Well while everyone is in such a good humor. You could get a flashlight and hang out the window.

I promise I'll try harder next time. What seriously bugs me is when you pay big bucks for an add-on and it still is missing these kind of things. I have one payware aircraft that the lights truly only work if it's dark! Like you can't use a light switch in the daylight. I was hoping maybe somehow your mapping had just gotten messed up. That would have been easy.

If I am not mistaken lights are in the config file of the aircraft. This is fro stock 737-800
[LIGHTS]
//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing
light.0 = 3, -24.20, -56.60, 3.90, fx_navredm ,
light.1 = 3, -24.20, 56.60, 3.90, fx_navgrem ,
light.2 = 2, -71.32, 0.00, 5.92, fx_strobeh ,
light.3 = 2, -25.00, -57.20, 4.20, fx_strobe ,
light.4 = 2, -25.00, 57.20, 4.20, fx_strobe ,
light.5 = 2, -7.55, 0.00, -5.50, fx_beaconb ,
light.6 = 1, 2.00, 0.00, 8.70, fx_beaconh ,
light.7 = 10, 47.60, 0.00, 3.00, fx_vclighth ,
light.8 = 3, -29.50, -56.60, 3.70, fx_navwhih ,
light.9 = 3, -29.50, 56.60, 3.70, fx_navwhih ,
I just don't know how to add it, it should be connected to a xml somehow. I never got into messing with any of that.

All of these files are in the effects folder of FSX If you are missing one than that woud explain the issue.

that would have to be one really big flashlight merlin, lol. and besides...as fast as those aircraft travel or any aircraft for that matter, you going to be able to hold it through the wind that would be coming at you?... that would be like putting a jet engine on a motorcycle and not wearing a helmet.lol
