REX Question

I've been having a devil of a time trying to access the REX forums so I figured I might pose my question here. I've had REX for about 5 years now (Essentials + OD) and I stopped using it about 2 years ago because every time I would load it up and get things going it ended up to always be snowing within the simulator. I checked the METAR in REX and it shows to be the correct weather. But somehow when it injects it into FSX it always says it's 22 C with Heavy snow. Mind you I could be in the Caribbean and it will be snowing. Has anyone run into this? Any fixes? Or should I just reinstall? I have no other add-ons for FSX other than Ultimate Traffic 2 and FsPassengers.

For what it's worth, I too stopped using REX Essential Plus Overdrive.

The whole process of setting up the weather for a simple flight just took FAR to long.

Some of the people on this site use REV4, and to me it looks better.

I'm using OpusFSI now, as it offers me some unique benefits, and is much faster than REX Essential Plus Overdrive.

But as to your question, I would suspect that you've somehow set up REX with snow as a default weather.

If you can't find such a setting, you may have to do a complete uninstall. So look carefully.

Do not use the windows uninstaller as the REX settings will probably be left on your drive.

I've been using Revo Uninstaller for about 10 years. It'll do an excellent job removing the settings from both your hard drive & registry. I trust it completely.

Be aware that it'll also remove the REX licensing file too, so make sure that you have that before removing REX with Revo.

Thank you, I've actually not looked at any other software but I agree with you that REX takes a mighty long time. I'll take a look at these programs!
