Is there a section in an Aircraft cfg where you can get rid of the torque effect?
I have a freeware Sopwith Camel that not on pulls viciously to the left,but
wants to barrell roll as well.

If yes,what has to be changed?

The problem with "rotary" engines...too much stuff flailing around!

That was very true. However I am hoping someone
can help me out. I see Nothing in the Aircraft cfg
about torque. There must be something that I can change
to cancell out the torque effect on this and a few other planes.

Hoping someone can help.

What are your in-game realism settings set at?

This probably isn't going to help, but I had a similar problem a couple of years back.

EVERY time I started a flight in the Baron 58 it'd go hard to the left and start rolling violently.

It happened in other aircraft too, but at that time I started FSX with the 58.

If I remember right, the USB cable had come partially unplugged.


Other than that, my guess would be 1) recalibration, or 2) hard rudder correction (if it's only with that particular plane).

If you have an old joystick laying around you could give that a try. Just remember that FSX (and P3d) will assign some really weird commands to new HID controllers.

The Camel is the worst. I know that this was done one purpose to mimic realism,
in the real aircraft.

I would like to be able to get rid of torque with a few other Aircraft.

It is not a problem with my Joystick.

Sib wings Bird Dog is not as bad ,as are default p51 mustangs.

It is definetly in the Aircraft cfg.

According to the above:

Propeller-induced turning effect parameters
The p_factor_on_yaw, torque_on_roll, gyro_precession_on_pitch and gyro_precession_on_yaw parameters are multipliers on the effects induced by rotating propellers. These are often called “left turning tendencies” for clockwise rotating propellers. The simulation correctly handles counter-clockwise rotating propellers. The default values are 1.0.

It is reasons like you stated that I do not and will not down load Either Military or some vintage aircraft. What good is to have a aircraft that you can not fly.
But I also have yet to master rotor craft as well, I have removed all of my helicopters. I thought that by having rudder peddles that it would be easier to fly helicopters but I was wrong on that one. But I have the patience of a two year old. Or none at all.
I have tried several different military jets and aircraft the only one that I could fly was a P38 twin engine of WWII.Or the old super Connie which I still have in my fleet Every other aircraft that I tried It was like trying to fly a wash machine or something. You had no or very little control of what it did.

As you said, it's a tad frisky even with the Aircraft Realism set to Easy. After a bit of messing around I realised how this was done.

Find the [WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE] header in Aicraft.cfg & change this entry

empty_weight_CG_position =1.395, -0.57, 2.37 //2.95, -0.37, 3.37

to this

empty_weight_CG_position =1.395, 0, 0

This tweak should make the Camel a lot more docile, even on the Hard Realism setting, but it won't be realistic.

Please note that I'm not saying this is a general fix for the other aircraft you mentioned. The flight dynamics for each one will be different. Most experienced FS developers go to great lengths to make their aircraft fly as realistically as possible.

YES!!

Thanks Hagar. It worked. It pulls a tad to the right but it
is completely flyable.

Once again you have solved a problem for me.

Very nice model too. I wonder if adding 0,0 to other aircraft
would work?
