Hi Everbody,
I've installed the latest T-45 from Dino and having one problem, no matter what I've tried I cannot get a launch from a carrier, landing on the carrier no problem, taking off from an airfield no problem, is anybody else having same problem?
All I get is a crash before it leaves the deck

regards
Steve

I have a question about this package. In the 2D mode is the default screen just a heads up display? Or have I failed to install a normal instrument panel?

Well, I will miss having the 2D panel but I am happy to find out I didn't screw up the installation.

Hi Steve.
I haven't tried this new ac yet, but does it also happens when you activate "launch" in aircraft.cfg?
[tailHook]
tailhook_length=4.0
tailhook_position=-12.9, 0.0, -0.7
cable_force_adjust=0.88
//[launch_assistance] hardcoded in mdl
//launch_bar_pivot = 15.4, 0.0, -2.17
//launch_bar_lug = 15.8, 0.0, -2.23

Hi Bass,
Thanks for that, I'll check what's in the cfg tonight.
I've not looked at the aircraft.cfg at all for the physical attachment.
I'm fairly certain the hawk does move foward on the cat but then about half way along I get the crash.

Steve

Hi Bass,
Taking out the comments has solved the take off from the carriers, now if only I could get 5 landings with the F-18, the T-45 is easy.
I had a look at the acceleration F-18 aircraft.cfg and it doesn't have the launch bar/tailhook entries.
@modlarbob it has the wide screen view with the basic instruments overlaid if you want it.

I have tried the shuttle launch security mission where you have to make a cat shot off a carrier in a F/A-18 at the beginning. It took me at least 5 tries before I got the sequence down right. You roll up to the shuttle, engage the launch bar, go to full throttle and fire the cat. I still only get it right about 1/3 of the time. I still haven't got the stray Cessna to land where it is supposed to.

5 F-18 carrier landings in a row, without a go around is not easy
Those F-18 entries i'm sure can be found in the .mdl file.

Funniest thing is trying to trap a wire on the carrier out from SFO or the one near Bremerton - they don't have working wires

good for touch and goes.
I've erm altered the mission file so I can use the T-45
I knows it cheating.
Aprt from this one hickup I've always found carrier launch faultless, shouldn't be anything to go wrong.
I treat it like it's real, I don't touch the joystick till I'm leaving the deck.
Shouldn't need full throttle to get off the deck, well not afterburners anyway, you don't even need the cat! taxi to stern and wind the engines up- mind the railings as you go -heading to the bow that is

I might try that. It is very hard to keep from stalling the F/A-18 when flying alongside a Cessna Caravan.
