FSX Activation Key Issue

I recently got a new gaming laptop and decided to install FSX with the hopes of finally being able to get some good performance on a modern CPU, only to discover that my disks had disappeared since I last installed it. *sigh* As a last resort I copied all 30+ gigabytes of flight sim over as well as the appdata/roaming folder and ran a registry repair tool. Where that leaves me is with a working flight simulator but one that only runs for a half hour before closing and telling me I need to register it. So, as I'm obviously without the original packaging with the activation keys, is there any way of finding the original keys for FSX and Acceleration among the files or registry on my working installation on my desktop? Also has anyone contacted Microsoft support recently and are they still able to assist with FSX issues?

Thanks for any help,
Jason :D

I had the same problem last year.

I ended ordering a very cheap FSX disk set from Amazon.

Yeah, I may end up doing that, I'd like to exhaust all my other options first though as I'm starting college in a month and consequently trying to keep spending to a minimum.

There are programs out there that will tell you all of the keys for any software you have installed.
I have to caution you here due to the way distributors are using you will be asked to install other software on your system. BE CAREFUL here as you may get unwanted garbage. Usually you can opt out of installing the other software just be sure to read any messages good before accepting them.
Failure to do so may do more harm than good.If you decide to download one of these tools I suggest you make a restore point before you do any thing. That way you have a good place to restart if you need it.

$20 (or less) in the USA....

http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Flight- ... ywords=fsx

A bargain...and you always have a back-up!... :D ...!

Just make sure you get the discs in a new, SEALED, jewel case!

I still have all my old Flight Sim, FS'98 onwards, disks safely stored in their original cases!
