Sound levels

I have a few sim downloads that start with the sound level far too high. Easy, just turn the volume down - not so because I like to have the radio playing in the background (using a DVB sound card) and I don't want to keep fiddling with that sound control. The file which controls the errant sound level has to be in the individual sim I suppose. I can't find it though - what's the secret? :x

Yes of course Paul but the point I was trying to make was that although most aircraft sounds are fine on my computer in fsx, a few come up too loud. Changing the settings means I have to change them again later. I was looking for a neater solution, like changing the sound level in the relevant simulation config file. In this way all my aircraft would open with approximately the same sound level and I wouldn't have to keep changing things. What I wanted to know was which file and which setting. ;)

What you could do is to adjust the sound level of the wav files one by one. I personnally use Audacity for this.
A long and painful job but efficient

I find that once I have set all my preferred volumes in Menu > Options> Sound....

...they remain set, irrespective of which Aeroplane I subsequently select.

This allows other sounds, like music, external ATC, etc, to be heard whilst flying and using my external Computer Sound Volume Control to regulate the overall sound level.
