Throttle not fully in idle with resulting aircraft taxi.

This is not a new problem I realise, and there is some info on the internet about it, but not clear enough for a newbie like me.
If I start at the end of the runway at idle in the KBT Orion's or FSX Caravan or the Beech King Air, I need to quickly apply the brakes otherwise I start creeping forward & gaining pace.
I don't think this should be normal. I did pick up if you hit F1 it will decrease the throttle and the aircraft will stop. On looking in the cockpit when F1 is hit, sure the throttles do move back a fraction. This is all very well but if the throttle is in idle so should the cockpit model! When taxing the throttle ( Saitek X52 Pro) is so sensitive that a mere nudge results in having to apply braking to regulate taxi speed. Its like the taxiway has no surface friction for these models. Can anyone advise me on what to do please, and yes I have done a calibration on my X52 Pro.

Hit the parking brake and move the Condition lever (red top, like the Mixture in the carbeurated planes) to just above the cutoff point. Should be labeled Ground Idle or something close. Don't go too far or you go past it and the engines stop. Which is awful embarrassing right at the gate. Like stalling out a manual transmision vehicle at the traffic light...  Not that I have ever done either one...
If you move the Throttle lever too far past Idle (F1 too many times) you will get Reverse or Beta thrust, and you can actually back up, if you are very carefull with your brakes, using it. Good for stopping a heavy bird on a short runway though :)

Good luck and fair winds!

Thanks for your reply 'PhantomTweak ' and I am pleased to advise I fixed the problem myself. Lucky I kept copies of my settings because when I revisited them I found my 'Realism' tab settings seemed to have been lost. After restoring them, the throttle was fine & the aircraft stood still at idle. The taxing power is still sensitive but on the KBT Orions I find shutting down the outboard engines makes a great deal of difference.

Just a bit of trivia here...When I was assigned to a P-3A Orion squadron back in the early '70's most of our pilots did the same thing. I believe it was mainly to conserve fuel.
So what you're doing is actually adding more realism to your sim flts. I do it too.

An Aircraft Mechanic only needs two tools, Duct Tape and WD40.
If it moves and it's not supposed to - use the Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and it's supposed to - use the WD40.
