makeing 2004 planes work in fsx

Postby bombardier » Mon Apr 14, 2014 7:26 am

hello again:

just thinking can I download a 2004 plane put it in the fsx folder and change what needs to be changed in fsx and make it flyable?

I know in trainz sim you can take trainz cars and edit the config file so it will fit that particular trainz version and use it. I was hopeing that would be the case in these planes exept they do not have config files.

Which aircraft are you thinking of? A lot of FS2004 aircraft work well in FSX without any modification. The most likely problems will be with the sound & some gauges. If the aircraft has no sound files of its own you can use sounds from a similar type in your hangar. Copy the Sound folder & paste it in. The gauges might be more of a problem. The easiest way to find out is to try one.

hello there:

about the gauges you said, I could just copy another panel from another jet I would think and it would work. if not I could copy the gauges from anothr plane and paste them into the other 04 plane.

That's fine if you use a 2D panel. It won't work for the VC.

There might not be a problem. A lot of gauges in FS2004 aircraft work fine in FSX. As I said, the easiest way to find out is to try one. If it doesn't work you can simply delete it.
